APPROPRITE USE AGREEMENT
All students need to sign an appropriate use agreement for their Google account and to use the Internet via our wifi systems. The agreement can be found here.
DEVICES
Students in Kindergarten - grade 3 each have a school-issued iPad.
Students in grades 4 and 5 each have a school-issued Chromebook.
Students in grades 6 - 12 are required to bring their own laptop, which we will connect to the school wifi network. If a student happens to forget his/her laptop at home or if it is being serviced, they will temporarily check out a Chromebook from IT Workroom (on a full-day basis).
GOOGLE ACCOUNTS
Google accounts are created for all students as they join the ASA, but they do not necessarily have to use it until they get into upper elementary.
On leaving ASA, users' Google and other accounts will be closed according to the following schedule:
To bring files from Google Drive, you can:
on a file by file basis share files you wish to keep with a non-ASA Google account, and from the other account take a copy of the original file.
use Google Takeout to export files to ZIP files. These files can be downloaded as Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF or image files, depending on the original file. There is no Microsoft equivalent of Google Forms, so these cannot be downloaded with Google Takeout. In those cases, method 1 above is recommended. Google Takeout also allows you to export other Google data, e.g. Gmail, Chat, Calendar, etc.
