Children should arrive at school as of 7.15 a.m. Elementary Learning Assistants are on duty outside the gate to assist our younger students getting out of cars and walk them inside, as of 7.30.
After school, Elementary students will be brought out from their classrooms and wait to be collected. If they are being collected by a nanny or driver, they will be brought to the gates to meet that person. Please ensure that you and/or your helper wears their ASA I.D. badge.
Traffic at morning drop off
In order to keep all of our community members safe, as well as traffic flowing smoothly, please adhere to the following procedures during morning drop off. If you have a driver, please share these procedures with him/her.
Stop the car at the furthest available point along the sidewalk. There will be a traffic cone to indicate this point, as well as custodians and/or the Principals/Director guiding the traffic. Cars bank up quickly to the roundabout and beyond, so stopping at the furthest possible point is key to traffic flow.
Passengers should get out of the car on the sidewalk side of the car only - do not allow children to open the car door and descend against the oncoming traffic.
Absolutely do not stop on the far side of the road and let children out, to cross the road. This is very dangerous and sets a bad example to the students as regards road safety. It can also stop traffic flow. If the traffic is backed up, please just be patient and wait.
If you are driving yourself and want to walk your children in to school, please park before doing this. You cannot leave your car in the drop off area as you will cause traffic to block. If you have a driver, he/she should drop you and your child, then wait in the parking area and collect you when you are ready.
Once you have dropped your child, please wait patiently in the line of cars until you can safely drive away. There may be other cars in front of you dropping children, but you will not have to wait for long. Please do not pull out onto the other side of the road unless it is indicated to you by a custodian that it is safe to do so.
At all times be patient, drive slowly and be alert to both pedestrians and other cars.
Of course these traffic safety rules also apply after school. Drivers should at no time park in and block the pick up area outside the gate. There should be no speeding or reckless driving at any time. We reserve the right to refuse entrance to the compound to drivers and vehicles that endanger our community members.
