Effective communication is a key component in providing a quality education for ASA students. There are many avenues available to parents to address their concerns, ask questions, receive information and be proactively involved in ASA.
General information
The weekly Friday newsletter contains key dates and information for families, as well as showcasing what's been happening at ASA. It is important that parents read this newsletter in order to keep up to date. If you do not receive it, please contact reception as it may mean that we have an out-of-date email address for you.
There is a School Calendar where vacations, Board meetings, PTO meetings, teacher in-services etc. are listed. This is available on the school website or through the link in the newsletter.
Emails may be sent to specific groups of parents by the Director, Principal or teachers to share information particularly relevant to just that group.
Two board meetings per year are School Board meetings are open to the Association. We encourage you to attend and keep yourself updated on school governance.
There are bulletin boards by the gate at the entrance of the school and a television in the front office where school and community announcements are posted.
PTO meetings occur monthly and are an excellent way for you to support your child’s educational experience. There is a PTO WhatsApp group for reminders about events etc
Ms. Lalaina is available at reception to help answer questions and provide basic school information.
Ms. Valerie or Ms. Jocelyne will be happy to assist you with financial issues. They are located in the business office; you can be directed from reception.

Class information
Please contact your child's teacher by email with any queries or to set up an appointment. Meetings can be scheduled as needed.
All teachers have learning platforms for their classes which are shared with parents. Please contact the teacher directly or the relevant Principal if you are not receiving this important information about learning.
Parent/teacher and/or student-led conferences are scheduled twice yearly (October and April).
Channels of communication
As partners in your child’s education we encourage you to address any questions or concerns in a timely manner. The following channels of communication should be followed:
Questions or concerns within the classroom or regarding a student’s academic progress in a particular subject should be discussed with the individual teacher. The teacher will know your child well and most information can be given and problems resolved at this initial level.
Questions or concerns regarding Academic Programs should be directed to the relevant Principal.
Questions or concerns of a social/emotional nature, regarding student well-being, should be addressed to the student’s Homeroom teacher, Advisor or the relevant Counselor.
Questions or concerns of a financial nature, or regarding school policies, procedures or future planning should be addressed to the Senior Bookkeeper or Director.
Any concerns that cannot be resolved with the teacher involved should be directed to the relevant Principal.
Any concerns that cannot be resolved with the Principal should be directed to the Director.
Any concerns that cannot be resolved with the Dircotor should be directed to the Board Chair.
The Principals and Director operate with an open door policy, however for important matters it is advisable to make an appointment to ensure mutual availability. Please email Landyr@asamadagascar.org or contact the office to set up a time.
