Beliefs and Mythologies (LC2)

Pebble Go Next is a good starting point. Remember that middle school students need to log in differently than in elementary school.

• Do NOT log in with Clever / Google.

• Type jabes for the Username and school for the password.

In the Early Civilizations section, click on the culture icon and then look for a tab with the word "Religion," or "Spirituality" in the title.

You can find information about the following ancient cultures in this project using Britannica School:

Aztec Celtic Greek Japanese (search for "Shinto")

Inca Norse Australia (search for "Aboriginal")

Search for the name of the culture plus a keyword, like "Aztec Religion" (without the quotation marks).  Keywords to try include "religion," "mythology," and "belief." Try adding the word "ancient" if you can't find good results.

You can find information about the beliefs of most of the cultures for this project using the Gale World History in Context database.

Search for the name of the culture plus a keyword, like "Inca Mythology" (without the quotation marks). 

For the Dogon people of Africa, search for "Dogon Religion" rather than mythology.

If you want more detailed information about current belief systems, search for the name of a religion in Britannica School.

Pebble Go Next has an excellent overview of each of the world's major current belief systems.
