When to Visit the Library

Students will come to the library once per quarter with their ELA class and at other times for class projects.  or during any class period with a pass from a teacher. 

Gibbs students may visit the library independently throughout the school day with teacher permission. Teachers usually allow students to come from ELA and from WIN classes, and on occasion from other classes if students have finished their work.

In addition, the library is open to all students before school between the first two bells and after school Monday through Thursday.

Library Activities

When you come to the library with your class or with a signed pass from a teacher, you have many options.

• Browse books 

• Get recommendations for what to read next 

• Check out and return books

• Solve the daily riddle

• Read in a comfy chair

• Work on schoolwork, independently or in small groups

• Play board games - ask at the desk and we'll let you borrow one to use in the library. 

Our growing collection of games includes chess, checkers, Jenga, Slamwich, Bananagrams, Pass the Pigs, and many more.
