Students and Parent(s)/Guardian(s) should use the Grade Portal to keep track of a student's progress in class.
Please remember that as the term continues more assignments will balance out the grade.
If marked "L" or "Late" with a red-circle it was not available during class.
If marked "A" or "Absent" with a green-circle student was not present when checked.
Both are recorded as a zero (0/F) until shown for credit.
Please check the assignment itself for comments or feedback.
To submit an assignment after it has been entered on Grade Portal, students must email or come after school to receive credit.
Communication
Comments or messages sent through Google Classroom will not be seen by the teacher until the assignment is opened for grading. Therefore, any questions or concerns must be communicated by a student through email or in person.
Device Expectations
In the classroom, devices are only to be used at permitted times. Students are expected to only use the device for the present activity. Playing games or using it for diversions from the task is not allowed. These expectations will be frequently reinforced.
Meet the Teacher
Eric Bakke
I have been teaching at Ottoson Middle School for 12 years. Growing up in Framingham gave me a love for the sense of community here in Arlington! After graduating from Framingham State with a degree in History and minors in Politics and Writing, I went on to finish my Master's in Education at Boston College while teaching.
At home, my wife and I have three daughters who are 13, 10, and 7 years old and a 4 year old son. I love spending time with my family! Also, I enjoy visiting historic sites and studying Classic Jewish texts. My favorite lessons are when the students can be creative and goofy but still demonstrate a tremendous amount of knowledge and research!
