Exam Fees Waiver for Candidates

The California State Budget included the approval of fee waivers on assessments required by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. This means that most California Educator Exam and Performance Assessment fees are now waived for eligible candidates as of July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, or until funds are used. For candidates who register for an exam or performance assessment beginning July 1, 2022, refunds will be provided to eligible candidates at a future date, subject to approval by the CTC.

For more information and updates about the waivers, eligible exams and individual eligibility requirements, please visit the CTC Examinations website and FAQs.

Candidates must complete their educator preparation program and obtain their credential within 3 years from the distribution of the Golden State Teacher Grant Funds and must commit to work at a priority school in California for 4 years within 8 years of completing their program. This program is administered by the California Student Aid Commission. Please visit their website and FAQs for more details.
