It is important that students see the relevance of their learning, gain exposure to practical, real-world work settings and begin to define their futures. Ohio and APS is committed to offering students opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials.
Earning this seal demonstrates that a graduate has completed an approved industry-recognized credential that is aligned to a career that is considered in-demand or critical in Ohio.
To earn Ohio' Industry-Recognized Credential Seal, students must do one of the following:
Earn a 12-point industry-recognized credential; or
Earn a group of credentials totaling 12 points in a single career field (as outlined here).
The student's academy at each APS high school with work together with a student to ensure a credentialing pathway that works best for them. Any necessary testing to earn credentialing is offered and paid for at each school.
Many APS Career Technical Education teachers have had the opportunity to prepare students for and take industry credentials that are aligned to specific career pathways.
There are no forms or documentation needed from the student to complete this seal. APS will automatically credit students who meet the criteria.
