Ohio's College Ready Seal indicates that a student is ready for post-high school learning experiences. Akron Public Schools administers the ACT to all Juniors.
The ACT is used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions.
Students may meet the criteria for this seal by attaining "remediation-free" scores on the ACT or SAT.
Students may meet the criteria for this seal by attaining "remediation-free" scores on the ACT or SAT (see table below).
The Ohio Department of Education works with Ohio universities to set the scores. Periodically, these scores may be adjusted. ODE will communicate the needed scores in the spring of the students' junior year before they take the state-sponsored tests.
Students' high school counselors will be able to assist students with ACT prep materials to increase their demonstration of college readiness. There are no forms or documentation needed from the student to complete this seal. APS will automatically credit students who meet the criteria. Students who retake the ACT will be credited with the higher of the scores received.
