Unit Overview: This unit explores how the body responds to disease by investigating cells, sound waves, and the interconnectedness of body systems. Students will analyze the phenomenon of measles in New Mexico to generate investigative questions, design experiments, build models, and explore relevant careers.

Do Now (blank white piece of paper): Make a folded booklet by following the directions in this video - we will start the video after the first 7 minutes of class (do your AGENDA first!).

15 minutes: Prepare Your Body Systems Skit (instructions and rubric in the handouts and below) - you have 15 minutes to PLAN a 3 MINUTE SKIT!!!
20 minutes: Body Systems SKIT PERFORMANCES!!!

15 minutes: I will pair each group up with another group, and then your job is to create a NEW skit or creative/fun presentation that takes 4 minutes to show us how those TWO BODY SYSTEMS work together. Make sure you include everything in the CHECKLIST and look at the RUBRIC to see how you'll be assessed!
20 minutes: Body System Interactions SKIT PERFORMANCES!!! The best two groups win some prizes!

EA-LR3-4: Add a photo from this week (body systems) and/or the week before spring break (whistles and sound) to your Science Portfolio website. Then write 3 sentences about what we learned, including a definition for at least one vocabulary word. Remember, I add an example in the assignment in Google Classroom!
