Can you have your own personal Google account and still access Google Classroom?
No, the student needs to be logged into their West Haven Public School Educational Google account in order to access all apps: Google Classroom, Seesaw, etc.
What is the student username and password for Google?
Username is student graduating year, first 5 letters of student last name, first initial @apps.whschools.org: ex 29smithj@apps.whschools.org
Student password is student First Name and lunch number: ex. John197453
Are students required to work during the scheduled hours or do they just need to complete the assignments when they can throughout the day?
Students are required to work during the published school scheduled hours. Please review published school schedules.
How are teachers taking attendance?
Attendance will be taken through students accessing and submitting work in Google Classroom for grades 3-12. For students in grades PK-2, attendance is recorded on Seesaw.
Will there be live instruction?
Links to view live instruction and all online resources will be posted on the individual teacher's Google classrooms or Seesaw Classroom.
Do they have to “go to” their specials everyday?
Students should participate in their specials as scheduled their school day.
How are students accessing special area (Gym, Music, Art, etc) classes?
The Physical Education, Music and Art teachers have put up activities for all grades on their Google Classroom and Seesaw Classrooms.
What browser works the best with Google Classroom and this website?
This website and Google Classroom will only work in Google Chrome. You can download Chrome on your computer by clicking here.
