Powerful Partnerships: Improving Family-School Relationships for Students with Visual Impairments or Deafblindness
The Council for Exceptional Children, Division of Visual Impairments and Deafblindness invites you to join them on October 27, 2025, at 4:00 pm (EST) as Dr. Beth Jones and Dr. Belinda Rudinger from East Texas A & M University will present Powerful Partnerships: Improving Family-School Relationships for Students with Visual Impairments or Deafblindness. This presentation highlights the importance of partnerships between parents and teachers of students with visual impairments and/or deafblindness. Self-Advocacy
Self-advocacy, what is it and how can you start practicing advocating for yourself? The video, Self-Advocacy Is for Everyone by the Exceptional Children's Assistance Center, illustrates how individuals can learn to speak up for themselves, make informed decisions, and actively participate in shaping their own lives.
This Research Project Will Include:
Round 1: Demographic information &
7 Open-ended Questionnaire (30 minutes)
Round 2: Likert Rating Scale (15 minutes)
Round 3: Rating Scale (15 minute)
Round 4: Confidence Rating Scale (15-30 minutes)

ALL PARTICIPATION IS VOLUNTARY
Inclusion
I Am Recruiting Individuals That Meet These Criteria:
Have instructed at the university level for 3 or more years, in the US.
Have taught in K-12 public schools as a special education teacher or administrator with a minimum of 3 years in the US.
Have instructed in a Special Education course, with preservice general education teachers in the US.
Exclusion
You Cannot Be In This Study If:
If you have yet to teach at a College of Special Education department.
If you have yet to instruct special education content to pre-service general education teachers.
If you are unwilling to participate and provide open, honest responses.
