Professional Development
Sessions sponsored by SST9
Thank you for your participation in the Regional Literacy Network this year. We recognize it was a year of deep investment in professional learning, implementation of high-quality instructional materials and assessments, and building of new systems at the district, building and classroom levels. The extra mile you have gone to continue to engage with your colleagues in this network is greatly appreciated!
At the beginning of 2025-2026, our Regional Literacy Network was merged with our Special Education Leadership Network! We believe bringing Curriculum Directors and Special Education Directors together to learn and collaborate in the development of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support aligned to the Science of Reading will allow for more clarity and intentionality as we build integrated, data-driven frameworks that are inclusive of all students and educators.
For more information, including 2025-2026 dates and topics, please see the flier.
Please know that we highly value the many committed instructional and peer coaches that have been an integral part of our current networking structure, and we are working to ensure there is a system of support available for you as well. As those plans of support are finalized, we will communicate via email, as well as our SST9 newsletter and website.
Should you want to connect with our team for planning support, sharing of celebrations, or brainstorming around barriers, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We know implementation of this scale takes time, but we hope you are starting to see some evidence of your efforts in growing the language and literacy development of all of your learners.
We look forward to our continued networking together!

Self-care for Caregivers: Why It's So Critical and How to Make it Happen
You know the old adage, “Life is a marathon, not a sprint.” For parents who are also caregivers, it’s both; often with no water breaks.
When a loved one has a disability or complex medical needs, the everyday norm you grow accustomed to is likely drastically different from your parenting peers with “typical” children. Yet the expectations put on us by society and even ourselves are the same, if not more. This workshop will help to give yourself some grace, consider what can wait, and re-examine the true intent of self-care.
Overwhelmed by Options? Navigating AT & AEM for Your Student’s Success
With so much information out there, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed when trying to understand Assistive Technology (AT) and Accessible Educational Materials (AEM). What do these terms really mean? What does the law say about your child’s right to access?

Indicator 14 Data Collection FAQ is now available on the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce website. There will be training materials released to support Indicator 14 Data Collection in the near future.
