By: Onelis Ramirez
As some of us know, Entertainers has been working heavily to present Matilda as their play of the year. The play is on the first few days of March. The Entertainers have been working their hardest, from being in Set Design (crew) to saying marvelous lines on stage (cast)!

World Cup Pt. 1
By: Sean Dubois, Anthony Sadlak, Ishaan Shaik Hunday
Super Bowl 57 was a very intense game. Most people thought that in the end the Eagles would win but that was not the case. Throughout most of the game the score was even and every time one team scored the other team would come right back. The Eagles kept up by throwing and catching insane passes across the huge field. The Chiefs kept up by just marching forward, unstoppable. The halftime show was done by Rihanna, who sang some of her most popular songs. In the end, the Chiefs won with a field goal ,with just a few seconds left in the game. Overall, Super Bowl 57 was a very great game.
World Cup Pt. 2

In a nail biter up to the two-minute mark, the Chiefs narrowly beat out the Eagles 38-35. At around the two minute mark, the Chiefs were able to get first and goal and burned the clock until around 15 seconds left in the game. They kicked a field goal, giving themselves a three point lead. After a squib kick, the Eagles got the ball with eight seconds and there was an incomplete pass on an under thrown hail mary attempt.
5th Grade Family Night
By: Suri Nguyen
Fifth grade family night will be held on Feb 22 at the TEMS cafeteria from 6:30pm- 7:30 pm. This is an event that helps 5th graders get ready for their transition to Timothy Edwards Middle School. So, if you have a sibling who is a 5th grader at any of the elementary schools, then I highly encourage your guardian to stop by and learn how to prepare their child for this upcoming switch.
What 6th Grade Thinks of the Carnations
By: Annaliese LeRoy and Nibha Bala Gowda
Carnations were a huge hit, thanks to the student council and the amazing Lime teachers, Ms. Bouquot and Profe Sullivan! Carnations were $2 and came with a heart shaped card. The two 6th grade teams that bought the most carnations were Emerald with 96 carnations and Lime with 104.
Basketball Updates

IT’S PLAYOFF SEASON FOR THE TE BASKETBALL TEAMS!!!
Topic
I won’t be writing about the TE basketball season in this article but I do want to talk about the NBA HUGE trades. I’ll also briefly touch on the Super Bowl if somehow, you don’t know about it yet.
NBA Trade Deadline Trades
There were a lot of trades at this deadline in the last few weeks so of course I may miss a few big ones but I’m going to talk about the ones I see most important.
Probably the two biggest trades were the Brooklyn Nets giving their two star players away (Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving). For Kyrie, the Mavs gave up Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith and future Draft picks. Then, for Kevin Durant the Suns gave up Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, 4 first-round draft picks and a 2028 first-round pick swap. Now this may be a hot take or the obvious, depending on how you look at it. But I think every team involved in these trades was a winner, especially the Nets. Now, I think this season they aren’t going to go or get far in the playoffs. But I think these moves were to get a younger roster and start a mini-rebuild. Then, the Suns and Mavericks already have a player that is the face of their franchise (Mavs: Luka Doncic, Suns: Devin Booker) so adding generational talent to that can make a really good team.
The Lakers gave up Russel Westbrook and other less significant players/picks to get (in a three team deal with the T-Wolves and Wizards) D'Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt. The Lakers were also able to get three other players in the supporting cast including Mo Bamba, Davon Reed, and Rui Hachimura.
Those to me were the three biggest trades that I think happened this deadline, Let me know what you think at: av31952@apps.southwindsorschools.org
