grade music continues to explore the five main music concepts: rhythm, melody, harmony, form, and tone color. Your students will broaden their rhythmic understanding with the playing and reading of rhythms that now include whole notes, whole rests, dotted-half notes, and sixteenth notes. Their vocal repertoire will continue to expand and they will continue to improve on
their instrument
techniques using small percussion, drums, and barred instruments
. Your child will begin to listen for phrases and rondo form in recorded music and to understand the difference between crescendo and decrescendo. We continue to show growth in our teamwork skills through game play, dance, and instrumental ensembles.
