Session 1: Being Flexible Word Solvers 

“Today I want to remind you that the vowels are usually the trickiest part of a word. If you’re having trouble figuring out a word, you may need to try another vowel sound, especially if that word has a vowel team.”

Session 2: Some Vowel Teams Make a Whole New Sound 

“Today I want to remind you that some vowel teams work in special ways. Some vowel teams work together to make a whole new sound. Big Kid Readers like you need to just learn their special sounds and remember them. For now, you can use a chart to help you, but after a bit you just learn these like you learn some snap words.”

Session 3: Readers Watch Out for Vowels with R 

“Today I want to remind you that when you see the letter R after a vowel, it usually changes the vowel sound. You need to watch out for vowels with R in tricky words and remember the sound that part usually spells.”
