Beautiful Work

Take a look at the work (not just PBL) pupils have been proud enough to share on the website and some of our work with community partners.

S1 Supporting the Community

S1 Crews have been working every Wednesday to address the problematic litter issue across our community.

Pupils identified areas where litter, often created by our own pupils, can be addressed and then set about tackling the problem.

This has been done in support with AFC Community Trust who volunteer and support supervision of the weekly activities, Angus Council who have financially supported with new litter pickers and litter bag hoops, and also our own community who have supported and welcomed seeing the pupils out and about.

A real highlight was being joined by Ladybird Playgroup boys and girls who helped clean up. They done a great job and worked with the S1's to ensure the job got done.

Jun 2026 - Fire Skills Week

Community Action Team Angus brought together our front line emergency services to work alongside some of our senior phase pupils, and gave them the unique opportunity to learn and showcase their skills over a week long programme.

A wonderful way for some of our seniors to end their academic year which pushed them to the highest of standards.

Well done to all the pupils and thank you to Kenny, Grant and the rest of the Community Action Team Angus for supporting.

S1 PBL at The Signal Tower Museum

From Mid March you can view the creative work of our S2 pupils as their work goes on display in the community.

Pupils have been selecting important human stories they want to tell.

After visiting V&A Dundee and having their own out of this world planetarium experience, pupils got to curate their own work.

Meet Reuben - An S1 pupil who was given the following Maths assignment:

Choose one of the famous mathematicians listed in task one (or another if you have a particular favourite mathematician). You should create either

· A webpage for the school website

· A powerpoint presentation

· A booklet for the school library

· An in depth video report

Here is what he had to say about the assignment and how he tackled it:

"I chose Einstein as he is really famous, and he is cool. I done the video as I am really chatty and I liked expressing and showing Mrs Ryan my work, which I am proud of.

I like public speaking and this was a different way to present my work. The video was put together by me and my Dad, and that was a lot of fun."

'Blue Wildflowers' impresses judges

Kyra's captivating 'Blue Wildflowers' impressed our judges and was crowned winner of the Arbroath Academy Jukebox Musical PBL. Her storyline is inspired by the music of Billie Eilish and it was beautifully presented in front of our audience.

‘Blue Wildflowers’ tells the story of Ivy, a painter, and her journey through love and self-discovery.

Well done, Kyra - an Arbroath Academy S2 pupil.
