Skate Park & Beach
Skate Park & Beach
Welcome to our Guide to the Beach Park!
We would like to share with you a family-friendly walk that you and/or your family can go on without any hassle. Along this walk, you will find: views, a park, the skate park and you might even meet some cute dogs. You also have the option to walk back along the park. Mind out for the seaweed though!
Below, you will find instructions which tell you where to go and how to have fun along your walk.
1) Firstly, arrive at the beginning of the walk next to the Beach Park. Here you will find amenities such as the toilets, parking and seats for a rest.
2) Secondly, explore the Beach Park. Take time to bounce on the trampoline, sail along the zip-line and spin on the roundabout.
3) Next, once you have finished at the park, walk along the seafront to the Skate Park. Here, you can skate or scoot around.
4) After that, walk left until you can see the gap in the fence to step down onto the beach. Along the beach you can collect shells and stones. Keep an eye out for rockpools and seabirds.
5) Then, walk along the beach until you spot a jetty (it might be covered in seaweed). You can walk up here and reach the other side of the park.
6) Finally, take a break on one of the benches to have a drink or even some lunch. If you didn't come prepared, you can visit one of the huts for food or even an ice-cream!
It is near the Chalmers Film House. The park is good for all ages and for people with disabilities (including a disability swing). It is close to toilets and you can grab food from the food huts.
It is located near the shore along from the park. You can practise skills, skating around the amazing track, with a view of the sea.
Disclaimer: the beach is not usually covered in this much seaweed!
The beach is normally covered in beautiful yellow sand, where you can find seaglass, shells and pretty stones.
It is also great for on-shore fishing (sometimes, when it's rough, you can even catch cod here).
The public bathrooms in West Links are accessible for disabled and non-disabled. The toilets are located next to the Beach Park. There is parking, if needed which is open 24/7.
Chilli Chow Down is a food hut located next to the Beach Park. It serves Mexican food. The ice-cream hut next to it serves ice-cream and cool drinks.
Below, you might spot these dogs out on your walks. They're very friendly, but please make sure to ask their owners before you pat them!

Here is a child-friendly playlist to motivate your walk.
Make sure you search for 'clean' versions of these songs.
Our top recommendation is number 11: Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon.
We chose this one because it had great lyrics and sound.
In conclusion, we hope you have a great time doing our walk and make good use of all the information on this page.
We asked our S1 classes what their preferences in the West Links area were. The above graph shows that many people use the area and it's quite popular for skating and for buying things like ice-cream.
Enjoy your walk!
