The WEEKLY Sabbath Was Given to the Children of Israel!
The Seventh Day Adventist Church argues that the TEN commandment law was given to Adam.
The Seventh Day Adventist Church, which I will abbreviate to the SDA Church and the SDA Christians throughout the remainder of the study, also argues that God gave Adam the weekly Sabbath day as well at creation week.
And thus, they believe that Adam and Eve knew all TEN Commandments while they were in the Garden of Eden
But what does the Bible ITSELF teach us? Before we go to the Bible to learn the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God, let us go ahead and read yet another one of the SDA Church’s arguments for why they believe that God gave the TEN Commandments to Adam at creation week.
I say another SDA argument because this is part 4 of a series of studies called part 1 of Dd-33. IS THE WEEKLY SABBATH DAY BINDING?

But for now, let us begin part four on this study by first reading another SDA Church argument of why THEY believe that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians.
The comments between the paragraphs of this SDA article are mine. I also have a few comments in parentheses.
And I will place the SDA article in a different font style so you can tell their words from my words.
Also, the emphasis is mine as well. Here is what the SDA Church argues in one of their SDA articles.
THE MORAL LAW EXISTED IN EDEN
THE MORAL LAW EXISTED IN EDEN
The Mosaic Law is never equated with the eternal moral code which operated from the very beginning of human history. Although they were not written down until Mount Sinai, the Ten Commandments were understood and honored by the earliest patriarchs.
(In other words, the SDA Church is saying that Adam and Eve understood while they were in the Garden of Eden that they were to REST on the seventh day of the week.
And they also understood every one of the TEN Commandments to KNOW what is sin in the Garden of Eden)
Even Cain knew that it was a sin to kill, because God told him that “sin lieth at the door” (Genesis 4:7) after he murdered his brother.
Let us go ahead and read Genesis 4:7 to see what really happened, according to the Bible itself.
Genesis 4:7.
“If you do well, shall you not be accepted? (Or if you do good then you will be accepted as I have accepted Abel.
So, HOW did Cain and Abel KNOW what is acceptable and what is not acceptable?
Did they know right from wrong by God giving them TEN Commandments?
Or did they know right from wrong by their God given CONSCIENCE they received AFTER Adam and Eve ate from the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil, to KNOW that they were NAKED?
WHO told them that they were naked? To me it was the accuser of the brethren along with their “conscience” CONDEMNING them of sin, AFTER they obeyed the wrong THOUGHTS in the CONSCIENCE) and if you do not well, (By listening to Satan’s lies to tempt you to do his desire please know that) sin lies at the door. (The CONDEMNATION of sin does not come until AFTER a person follows Satan’s lies to do his desire.
So then, sin is waiting to pounce on us to see if we follow Satan’s desire to go against God’s desire in our CONSCIENCE.
And if we do not then good in our conscience by doing what Satan desires, then the CONDEMNATION of sin pounces on us) And unto you shall be his desire, and (The word “and” is not in the original text so it should read) you shall rule over him.”
In other words, God is saying, you do NOT have to obey Satan’s desire and YOU are to be the master of him, by resisting Satan’s lying thoughts, trying to tempt you to go against your CONSCIENCE telling you no.
God was saying to Cain, do not do what you are THINKING of doing Cain!
For if you do, then the condemnation of sin will pounce on you.
And that condemnation is even at the door right now, waiting for you to obey Satan's desire.
Can you not see that you do not HAVE to have the TEN Commandments to KNOW right from wrong? God ADDED the WRITTEN commandments which NOW includes the FOURTH commandment which is a CEREMONIAL commandment and NOT a MORAL commandment.
For you see there were no ceremonial commandments written in man's CONSCIENCE before the Law of Moses was given.
Plus.\, man’s conscience from Adam to Moses had DULLED so to speak.
And thus, death reigned from Adam to Moses, rather than man reigning over Satan, to obey their CONSCIENCE.
So, God ADDED the LAW, ALL the law of God in WRITTEN commandments until Christ came.
And in the law of commandments God ADDED all of the CEREMONIAL commandments.
And again, the FOURTH commandment is a CEREMONIAL commandment.
It is impossible for sin to exist where there is no law. The Bible teaches, “for where no law is, there is no transgression” (Romans 4:15).
Again we are told, “Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law” (1 John 3:4).
This principle is amplified further by Paul’s statement that “I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet” (Romans 7:7).
These verses nail down the truth that no sin can be imputed where the Ten-Commandment law is not in effect. God’s statement to Cain about sin lying at the door was in reference to his plan to kill Abel, a violation of one of those commandments.
This is absolute proof that the moral law was in effect at that early date. Later, Joseph revealed that he was aware of the binding claims of that same law. He said to Potiphar’s wife, “how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Genesis 39:9). He knew adultery was sin.
Now, I absolutely agree that the MORAL law was in effect AFTER Adam ate from the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.
BEFORE Adam and Eve ate from the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil while they were yet in the Garden of Eden they had no CONSCIOUSNESS that they were naked.
But AFTER they ate of the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil they KNEW that they were naked and they were ASHAMED and they hid themselves from God.
Please read Genesis 2:25.
“And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were NOT ashamed.”
Now read Genesis 3:7-11.
“And the eyes of them BOTH were OPENED, and they KNEW that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
Genesis 3:8. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden.
Genesis 3:9. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where are you?
Genesis 3:10. And he said, I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was NAKED; and I hid myself. (You do not hide from God unless you are ASHAMED of what you did.
So it was their conscience that told them that they were naked and by their CONSCIENCE they knew it was wrong to be naked.
No one told them that they were naked. No one told them that they were to be ashamed that they were naked.
In fact, God asked them who told them that they were naked)
Genesis 3:11. And He said, WHO TOLD you that you were naked? Have you EATEN of the tree, whereof I commanded you that you should not eat?”
And what was the NAME of that tree that Adam and Eve were commanded to NOT eat from?
It was called the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil, according to Genesis 2:9,17.
And as soon as they ate from the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil they KNEW that they were naked and they tried to hide from God.
Plain and simple they received a CONSCIENCE that day and every human being from that time forward has a God given CONSCIENCE to know good from evil WITHOUT the TEN Commandments that God gave to the children of Israel for THEM to keep throughout THEIR generations as a SCHOOLMASTER to lead them to Jesus and the New PERPETUAL Covenant, according to Exodus 31:16,17 and Galatians 3:24,25.
So then, it is NOT that God gave Adam ANY COMMANDMENTS by God’s thundering voice as He did face to face with the children of Israel at Mount Horeb.
But rather, God led His creation by their God given CONSCIENCE beginning with Adam and Eve AFTER they ate from the tree of knowledge or CONSCIOUSNESS of good and evil to this very day in our time.
In the Garden of Eden God gave Adam just ONE law in one commandment and that ONE commandment was to NOT eat from the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.
And it was only AFTER they ate from the tree of “CONSCIOUSNESS” to know good from evil that the MORAL law of God was given.
There were no ceremonial laws of God given until Mount Horeb.
Now, the Bible ITSELF clearly teaches us that the TEN Commandments were given to the children of Israel at Mount Horeb after God delivered them from bondage in the land of Egypt.
So, there is no need to try and FORCE the Scriptures to mean that God gave the TEN Commandments to Adam at creation week.
Again, there was no commandment given to Adam to rest on the Seventh day of the week every week.
Not one verse of Scripture shows any evidence of ANY kind that ANY man or woman rested on the seventh day of the week or on any other day of the week either for that matter.
So then, the only reason why the SDA Church tries to prove that the weekly Sabbath day was given to Adam at creation week is so that they can try and compel weak Christians to keep a DAY of rest that Jesus nailed to the cross.
Again, Jesus did not nail the fourth COMMANDMENT ITSELF to the cross, but rather, it was the ORDINANCES contained in the fourth commandment that were nailed to the cross.
In other words, it was the “LETTER” of the law that was nailed to the cross so that we, as Christians can keep the “SPIRIT” of the law.
The weekly Sabbath DAY is a ceremonial law and NOT a MORAL law.
The seventh DAY is a SHADOW pointing to Yahweh’s Sabbath REST in the world to come.
That is when Jesus will rule FOR Yahweh as the Lord of the SABBATH while Yahweh takes His Sabbath rest during the 1000-year long Seventh day of God 7000 year plan of salvation.

But for now, let us continue with this study in God’s word.
So then, plain and simple, the same as Satan tempts us today by Satan putting thoughts into our minds, Satan put his lying thoughts in the CONSCIENCE of Cain to murder his brother Abel.
And in the same way that God works through the CONSCIENCE in both the unsaved and the saved today, God worked through the CONSCIENCE of Cain and said to Cain’s MIND, his CONSCIENCE, do not listen to Satan.
You must rule over him, Satan wants to devour you. Do not listen to him.
And Cain listened to the wrong thoughts in his conscience and he murdered his brother Abel.
Satan accused Cain to God and God had to honor His words and punish Cain for disobeying his CONSCIENCE.
Now if you do not believe that it is God speaking the GOOD things in your CONSCIENCE then you do not understand the Scriptures.
Please read what Paul says about the Gentiles who did NOT have the LAW of God as the children of Israel had, but they had ONLY a CONSCIENCE that they obeyed sometimes and disobeyed at other times.
Please read Romans 2:14,15.
“For when the Gentiles, which have NOT the law, (Speaking of the TEN Commandments AND the REST of the LAW of God that God commanded Moses to give to the children of Israel) do by NATURE the things contained in the law, these, having NOT the law, ARE a law unto themselves:
Romans 2:15. Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their CONSCIENCE also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)”
Remember WHO or what TOLD Adam and EVE that they were naked. It may have been Satan accusing them, but to me, it was more like their CONSCIENCE condemned them and their eyes of understanding were opened and they just KNEW in their CONSCIENCE that they were naked.
But BEFORE they received a CONSCIENCE they were NOT ashamed to be naked.
So, their CONSCIOUSNESS of being ashamed of being naked came AFTER they ate of the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil to then KNOW that they were naked and their conscience made them ashamed to KNOW that they were naked.
They did not hide from God because they disobeyed His ONE commandment to not eat of the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil.
But rather, they hid because the MORAL law of God came into their MINDS or their CONSCIENCE to know right from wrong which they did NOT have BEFORE they ate from the tree of KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL.
So then, there is no need for the SDA Church and other seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping Christians to try and force the idea that the TEN Commandments MUST have been given to Adam at creation week for how ELSE would Cain have KNOWN that murder is a sin?
By his CONSCIENCE that is how Cain knew it was wrong to kill his brother!
Let us continue exposing the errors of interpretation made by the SDA Church arguments.
Abraham was commended by God in these words: “Because that Abraham obeyed My voice, and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws” (Genesis 26:5). It is very obvious that the law which Abraham faithfully obeyed was not the law of Moses, because that law was not given until 430 years later.
And we have just established that the Ten Commandments existed before Abraham, condemning even Cain for murder. Neither is it possible for us to conceive that great, godly Abraham was not acquainted with the basic issues of right and wrong contained in the Ten Commandments.
First of all, no, and again I say no! The SDA Church has NOT established that the TEN Commandment existed before Abraham.
That is their own personal and erroneous interpretation that they claim is the ONLY POSSIBLE way that Cain could have known that murder is a sin.
I have just shown you that all humans have a CONSCIENCE to know right from wrong.
And for that reason that every human being has been given a CONSCIENCE, I do agree with the statement that Abraham was acquainted with the BASIC issues of right and wrong that are ALSO contained in the TEN Commandments. But I absolutely disagree strongly with the SDA Church’s “interpretation” of the Scriptures that they have taken out of their context and twisted to mean that God MUST have given the TEN Commandment to Adam at creation week.
The Bible ITSELF clearly teaches us in SIMPLICITY that TEN Commandments were NOT given to anyone except to the children of Israel AFTER God delivered them from bondage in the land of Egypt.
You just read what the Apostle Paul said in Romans 2:14,15 that the Gentiles had no law except for their CONSCIENCE.
And by obeying their conscience, they did the good works contained in the MORAL laws of the TEN Commandments.
Again, the fourth commandment is NOT a MORAL law.
Now, concerning the SDA argument that Abraham obeyed God’s voice, kept God’s charge, God’s commandments, God’s statutes, and God’s laws in Genesis 26:5, the answer is a simple YES.
God SPOKE to Abraham on several occasions giving Abraham charge to leave his father’s home and follow God is one such example.
God gave the commandment for Abraham to be circumcised is another example.
And there were statutes or ordinances contained in that commandment God gave by VOICE to Abraham for him to be circumcised which was God’s LAW.
So the only law that was added to the MORAL laws of the CONSCIENCE of man were the CEREMONIAL commandments CONTAINED in ORDINANCES UNTO Yahweh.
There is nothing MORAL about the law of circumcision. But rather, it is a SERVICE done UNTO God.
And the fourth commandment is ONE of those CEREMONIAL Law of commandments CONTAINED in ORDINANCES that is done UNTO Yahweh that Jesus nailed to the cross.
There are many SHADOWS hidden in the ORDINANCES contained in the FOURTH commandment.
And Paul said the Sabbath DAYS are a SHADOW pointing to Jesus and that the handwriting contained in ordinances in the commandments of dietary laws, holy day laws, moon day laws, AND Sabbath day laws were NAILED to the cross.
Can you not see that the SDA Church is twisting Paul’s word to say that the weekly Sabbath days are NOT Sabbath days?
There is no such phrase in the entire Bible as “WEEKLY Sabbath”. Look it up for yourself. That phrase “weekly Sabbath” is nowhere to be found in the Bible.
So how can anyone dogmatically demand that Paul did not mean his words “Sabbath days” to be the weekly Sabbath days?
Is not the seventh day of the week a Sabbath day, and thus, the WEEKLY Sabbaths are the SABBATH days that Paul is referring to? YES!
And a “holy day” is also a Sabbath day as well, according to Exodus 35:2. And thus, ALL Sabbath DAYS are NOT to be kept as days of obligation lest a Christian sin.
In fact, to me, it would be DISPLEASING to God to KEEP that which Jesus FULFILLED for the very purpose of ABOLISHING it so that it would be taken out of the way by nailing it to the cross.
The whole point of the SHADOWS was to lead the children of Israel to Jesus.
Please read Exodus 35:2.
“Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you a holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever does work therein shall be put to death.”
So then, BOTH a holy day AND the Sabbath DAYS were nailed to the cross. A Christian has to be blind or filled with pride to dogmatically demand that Paul did not intend his words to mean the weekly Sabbath days.
For you see, Paul says that the Christians who esteem DAYS above other days are weak in the faith. Paul was afraid for the Christians who were observing DAYS.
And the weekly Sabbath DAY is a DAY that the children of Israel observed.
Now what if the “interpretation” made by the SDA Church is WRONG and the SDA Christians are keeping a DAY of service to God that Jesus nailed on the cross so that Christians could keep the “SPIRIT” of the fourth commandment in Spirit and in TRUTH unto God?
Would not keeping the “LETTER” of the law that Jesus NAILED to the cross be DISPLEASING to God? YES!
The SDA Church knows full well that if Christians kept the “LETTER” of the law to offer animal sacrifices would be a slap in the face of God who desires to be worshiped in Spirit and in TRUTH.
Is not the true meaning of the commandment of the feast of Passover that Jesus is our TRUE Passover Lamb? YES!
So Christian are not under the “LETTER” of the law but we ARE under obligation to keep the “SPIRIT” of the law by our FAITH in Jesus as our TRUE Passover Lamb.
And the same is true with the FOURTH commandment. The RESTING on Saturday is NOT binding on Christians.
For you see, resting on a DAY of the week is keeping the “LETTER” of the fourth commandment to rest on a DAY.
And that resting on a DAY of the week was a SHADOW pointing to the TRUE rest in Jesus.
And thus, we are obligated to keep the TRUE REST that the SIGN of the weekly Sabbath DAY points to which is to rest in Jesus for our Holiness and righteousness.
And the SIGN of the weekly Sabbath rest also points to the New PERPETUAL COVENANT in the shed blood of Jesus so that we can enter into the true Seventh 1000-year long day of Yahweh to REST from all our labors in the world to come.
Can you not see that we must ENTER into the TRUE Sabbath REST in Jesus for HOLINESS before we will be able to enter into the REST of the Seventh 1000-year long day of Yahweh’s rest that REMAINS for the people of God in the future at the coming of Jesus?
Please read Hebrews 4:2-11.
“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Hebrews 4:3. For we which have believed do ENTER into REST, (Speaking of we who believe in Jesus for HOLINESS do ENTER into our Sabbath REST in Jesus as being the SIGN of the NEW PERPETUAL COVENANT) as He said, As I have sworn in My wrath, if they shall ENTER INTO MY REST: (Speaking of both the REST in God’s Messiah that He provided in order to enter into the New PERPETUAL COVENANT in order to enter into the Seventh 1000-year long day of Yahweh’s Sabbath in the world to come) although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. (Meaning that God CHOSE salvation to be in Jesus for people to REST or to CEASE from all their works of RIGHTEOUSNESS to be pleasing to God before the foundation of the world)
Hebrews 4:4. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. (And the LITERAL translation of Genesis 2:1-3 speaks of TWO creations of God, the works He DID and the works He is FINISHING in the seventh day referring to the 1000-year reign of Yahweh’s REST in the future.
That is why Yahweh said My rest.
So if you want to enter into Yahweh’s rest in the world to come to receive eternal life and rest from all your works then hear and obey the TRUE Gospel of Jesus Christ under the New Covenant written in the New Testament to keep ONLY the “SPIRIT” of the law and to CEASE from keeping the “LETTER” of the law)
Hebrews 4:5. And in this place again, if they shall enter into My rest.
Hebrews 4:6. Seeing, therefore, it remains that SOME must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered NOT in because of unbelief: (Who did NOT enter into Yahweh’s REST because of their unbelief?
Was it the Jewish Christians who BELIEVED in Jesus as their Lord and Savior for Holiness?
Or was it the unsaved Jews who KEPT the weekly Sabbath DAY to the “LETTER” of the law who REJECTED Yahweh’s TRUE REST for holiness?
It was only those who believed the TRUTH to CEASE from the works of the law for righteousness, INCLUDING, the keeping of the Sabbath DAY, to ENTER INTO Yahweh’s Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus REST that Yahweh provided.
So then, Paul is saying that there are still SOME of the children of Israel in UNBELIEF.
And it REMAINS for THEM that THEY must enter into Yahweh’s REST.
This verse is NOT talking about how there remains the weekly Sabbath DAY that some must keep because it is still binding to keep the “letter” of the law to keep a DAY holy. No! That is NOT what this verse is saying.
Simply look up the Greek word that is translated as “remains”. It means to FORSAKE and to LEAVE BEHIND.
So, what SOME must do to enter into Yahweh’s REST is for them to FORSAKE and LEAVE behind the WORKS of the law of commandments CONTAINED in ORDINANCES.
The ordinances are the INSTRUCTIONS on how to keep the “LETTER” of the laws.
And the REST is the New Testament “instruction” to come unto Jesus and he will give you REST. Jesus is our TRUE Sabbath REST. And if you are not resting in Jesus for holiness then you are not truly in the New Covenant.
But rather, Sabbath-keeping Christians have one foot in the Old Covenant that God no longer accepts.
So why serve you the “LETTER” of the law that was NAILED to the cross?
So then, if you are a Jew who becomes a Christian you must walk totally out of the Old Covenant and shut the door of the Old Covenant behind you.
You must enter into the New Covenant and shut the door behind you to have a set of double doors to keep you from going BACK to keep the Old Covenant)
Hebrews 4:7. Again, He limits a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts. (To remain an SDA Christians or any other seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping Christian)
Hebrews 4:8. For if Jesus had given them rest, (Speaking of the Jews, the children of Israel under the Old Covenant who kept the “LETTER” of the law not yet understanding that there is the “SPIRIT” of the law that the letter of the law points to) then would He not afterward have spoken of another day. (Speaking of TODAY, the age of the church under the New Covenant written in the New Testament)
Hebrews 4:9. There remains, therefore, a REST to the people of God.
Hebrews 4:10. For he that is entered into His rest, he ALSO has CEASED from his own works, as God did from His.
Hebrews 4:11. Let us labor, therefore, to enter into that rest, (Yahweh’s aleph Tav Messiah Jesus REST that Yahweh provided for us so that we will be able to enter into Yahweh’s yet future rest during the 1000-year reign of Jesus to REST from ALL our LABORS and our good works will follow us, according to Revelation 14:12,13) lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.”
Please read Revelation 14:12,13.
“Here is the patience of the saints: (Keep in mind that there are TWO witnesses, the Jews who keep the commandments of God and the Christians who keep the FAITH of Jesus) here are they (The two witnesses of the saints. The harvest of the saints who have the faith of Jesus will be at the coming of Jesus before the 1000-year long Seventh day of Yahweh’s rest.
And the final harvest of saints will be the remnant of Jews who keep the commandments of God under the Old Covenant.
They will be saved alive in their mortal bodies to go into the 1000-year long Seventh day of Yahweh’s rest, to be taught HOW to REST in Jesus the ONLY name given among men whereby we MUST be saved.
And THEY will rest from all THEIR labors at the END of the Seventh 1000-year long day of Yahweh’s rest during the world to come) that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. (Two different groups of people until those who keep the “LETTER” of the law of commandments contained in ordinances LEARN to REST in Jesus as their TRUE Sabbath REST.
Now, if the SDA Christians dogmatically demand that Christians must keep the commandments of God AND their faith in Jesus then please know and understand that Yahweh gave just TWO commandments to give to us under the New PERPETUAL COVENANT that is written in the New Testament.
And those TWO commandments are the ONLY commandment BINDING on Christians)
Revelation 14:13. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, says the Spirit, that they may rest from their LABORS; and their works do follow them.”
We are to LABOR to CEASE from the WORKS of the law of commandments contained in ordinances and do only MORAL works and GOOD works of kindness to our fellow man.
God seeks us to worship Him in the “SPIRIT” of why He gave the “LETTER” of the law to the children of Israel in the first place.
And the FOURTH commandment is a CEREMONIAL commandment to Yahweh that contains ORDINANCES in the “LETTER” of the law.
And those ordinances of keeping a DAY of REST are SHADOWS pointing to Jesus as being the Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus Sabbath rest to enter into the New PERPETUAL COVENANT.
Let us move on to the next SDA Church argument for why THEY believe that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians.
It is absolutely certain that another law was added 430 years later, and it was in addition to the one Abraham kept so diligently. “And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect” (Galatians 3:17).
The context of this verse indicates that Paul is talking about the ceremonial law rather than the moral law of the Ten Commandments.
In verse ten, he refers to the curses “which are written in the book of the law.” We know this had to be the mosaic law because, as we have already noted, there are no curses recorded in the law written on stone.
I absolutely agree that the CEREMONIAL law of commandment was added to the moral law in the CONSCIENCE of every man from the time of Adam.
But there are SIX MORAL laws in the TEN Commandments and the other four commandments are unto God.
And the FOURTH commandment is a CEREMONIAL commandment unto God that is contained in ordinances just like all the other ceremonial commandments.
And as I said before in this series of studies, who can KNOW whether or not that there were no judgments written on the two stone tablets?
The first set of the two stone tablets were thrown down by Moses and BROKEN so it no longer exists.
And the second set of tables of stone that were placed inside of the Ark of the Covenant are nowhere to be found to my knowledge.
So who is to dogmatically demand that NOTHING but the TEN Commandments only were written on the two stone tablets?
Remember that there were TWO tablets of stone that were written on BOTH sides of each tablet.
And it does not take much room to write DEATH to you who breaks My Aleph Tav Sabbath.
As you read the following SDA Church argument keep in mind the MORAL law of God is in every person’s CONSCIENCE.
Remember that Adam and Eve were WITHOUT the law being in them before they ate of the tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil and then they RECEIVED a CONSCIENCE to know good and evil in themselves after they ate of the tree of KNOWLEDGE of GOOD and EVIL.
Can we find further confirmation that this later law was indeed the law of Moses?
The answer rests in Galatians 3:19. “Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions till the seed should come to whom the promise was made ...”
Here we have two significant facts set forth concerning the law which was added. We are told why it was given and also how long it would remain in effect. These two bits of information will be considered very carefully since they contain compelling evidence in the case.
Please know and understand that the TEN Commandments were NOT given to Adam at creation week.
The SDA Christians must first swallow the lie that the fourth commandment was given to Adam at creation week.
But, in TRUTH, God commanded Moses to TEACH the children of Israel HOW to rest on the seventh day for the very FIRST time in Exodus chapter 16.

You can read it now or read it later after this study but please make sure you read the whole study with an open mind and heart being honest with yourself and with God.
FIRST: WHY WAS IT GIVEN?
(Excellent question! Too bad this SDA answer is not the WHOLE answer)
The verse clearly states that it was “added because of transgressions.” This is most revealing because we have just established that “where no law is, there is no transgression” (Romans 4:15). One can’t be guilty of transgressing a law which does not exist.
In this case one law obviously did exist;
(YES ! the law in every person CONSCIENCE)
and it had been “transgressed,” making it necessary to add another law 430 years after God’s covenant with Abraham. And since it is recorded that “Abraham obeyed ... my laws” (Genesis 26:5), we have to believe that that earlier law, which Abraham observed, was the Ten Commandments. Moses had not yet been born, and it could not have been his law.
Can you not see how DECEPTION starts? It starts with men demanding that it HAS to be, there is no OTHER WAY, this is the ONLY way these Scriptures can be understood.
No! SDA Christians do NOT HAVE to believe that the earlier law was the TEN Commandments given to Adam at creation week. SDA Christians have to try and explain away other verses of Scripture that prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that the Sabbath was NOT given at creation week.
So, the simple answer that is easy to see, easy to believe, and does NOT contradict any other verse of Scripture is that the earlier law was God's MORAL law written in man’s CONSCIENCE.
Thus, you do not HAVE to believe what the SDA Church teaches or any other seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping church teaches.
So what must we conclude from this evidence? The Ten Commandments had been transgressed,
(And if that were true then the CEREMONIAL law of the Sabbath DAY was also being transgressed from day one because there is no scriptural evidence of any person ever resting on the seventh day from Adam to Moses.
So then, plain and simple, the TRUTH is that the FOURTH commandment was NOT given until Moses first TAUGHT the children of Israel HOW to rest on the seventh day in Exodus chapter 16.
Again, I implore you to read the study Dd-7. WHAT DOES EXODUS 16:28-30 TRULY MEAN?)
making it necessary to add the ceremonial law. Upon reflection, this makes a lot of sense. If a law is made forbidding murder, and it is broken, then another law would have to be enacted to prescribe the penalty or punishment for breaking that first law.
We have already established that the Ten Commandments contained no curses (penalties) or judgments (punishments), but the mosaic law was characterized by those very things.
WHAT! How can anyone say that the TEN Commandments have no JUDGMENTS?
Just because Almighty God COMMANDED Moses to write down the commandments AND the judgments along with the ORDINANCES in a book do not mean that NONE of the TEN Commandments have no ORDINANCES and no JUDGMENTS.
You cannot separate the TEN commandments from the Law of Moses because God gave the TEN Commandments to Moses to TEACH to the children of Israel about their future coming Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus REST for Holiness.
And the FIRST commandment that Moses TAUGHT the children of Israel after they came out of bondage in the land of Egypt was HOW to REST on the seventh day. I can not stress enough for you to read the study Dd-7. WHAT DOES EXODUS 16:28-30 TRULY MEAN?
But for now, please read Deuteronomy 5:31-33.
Deuteronomy 5:31-33.
“But as for you, stand you here by Me, and I will speak unto you ALL the commandments, AND (All) the statutes, and (All) the judgments, which you (Moses) shall TEACH them, (The children of Israel that God delivered out of bondage in the land of Egypt) that they may do them in the land which I give them to possess it.
Deuteronomy 5:32. You shall observe to do, therefore, as the LORD your God has commanded you: you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
Deuteronomy 5:33. You shall walk in ALL the ways which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live, and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.”
SECOND: HOW LONG DID THIS “ADDED” LAW REMAIN IN EFFECT?
(Another excellent question. But it is sad that SOME SDA Christians still need to enter into the TRUE Sabbath rest.
Some SDA Christians are leaving the SDA Church but SOME still need to see the TRUTH that the fourth commandment is a CEREMONIAL law UNTO Yahweh and NOT a MORAL law toward our fellow man.
The SDA Church openly admits that the CEREMONIAL laws were ADDED because of the transgression of the MORAL law.
And that means that the FOURTH commandment was ADDED at Mount Horeb. Jesus only quotes SIX MORAL commandments in Matthew 18:16-19.
And Paul quotes only SIX MORAL commandment in Romans 13:9,19.
So that means FOUR of the TEN commandments PLUS all the other ceremonial laws were ADDED at Mount Horeb)
The Scripture says, “Till the seed should come.” There is no controversy over the identity of that seed. It is Christ.
But do we have evidence that the law which was blotted out and nailed to the cross was indeed the law of Moses? Whichever law it was, it is designated as the “handwriting of ordinances.” Nowhere are the Ten Commandments identified as ordinances. That term is applied to local legal codes which are very narrow and limited, such as “town ordinances” which extend only to the city limits. In comparison, the Ten Commandments are more like the constitution of the United States.
Again, the FOURTH commandment is a “ceremonial” service to God and NOT a MORAL law toward our fellow man.
And the fourth commandment contains ordinances that Moses wrote in the Book of the Law that is also called the Law of God in Joshua 8:34 and Joshua 24:26, Nehemiah 8:1,8 and other places as well the book of the law, the book of the law of Moses, the book of the law of God, and the law of God all mean the SAME law of Almighty God.
The ordinances equate to the “LETTER” of the law which point to the SPIRITUAL meaning called the “SPIRIT” of the law.
So, the OLD “letter” of the law was abolished and changed to the keeping of the true spiritual MEANING of why the commandments were given in the first place.
And the reason that the fourth commandment was given to the children of Israel for them to keep throughout their generations was for a SIGN pointing to the New PERPETUAL COVENANT.
