The WEEKLY Sabbath is NOT Binding in the NEW Covenant!
In this study in God’s word, we will closely examine 60 so-called different arguments for why Christians must keep the seventh DAY of the week as a DAY of rest lest a Christians sins.
I say “so-called” 60 arguments because there are not actually 60 different arguments.
But rather, the seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping article that I am quoting from uses two, three, and sometimes as many of seven points for just ONE argument.
So in reality, there are far less that 60 reasons for why Sabbath-keeping Christians sincerely believe that Christians must keep the Sabbath day.
And even in that far less number of arguments most of them are arguing that the children of Israel kept the Sabbath day under the Old Covenant written in the Old Testament.
And thus, ALL of those arguments are “pointless”. For you see, just because God gave the keeping of the weekly Sabbath day to the children of Israel does NOT prove that Christians MUST keep the weekly Sabbath DAY of REST lest they sin.
Keep in mind that just because Scriptures are being quoted and cited does NOT mean that what is being taught is the TRUTH of the WHOLE word of Almighty God.
For example, God COMMANDED Noah to build an Ark and I can prove it by the Scriptures.
But does simply proving a FACT in the Bible prove that we are commanded to build an Ark? No! Absolutely not.
So keep in mind that Sabbath keeping churches throw out verse after verse in a rapid fire method without giving their flock a chance to process all this information that MAY SOUND Biblical to those who do not read the Bible for themselves.
And when any Christian hears only ONE side then it may sound that what they are hearing is Biblical.
After all, they quoted Scripture.
Here are the so-called SIXTY reasons that I got off the Internet to try and prove that all Christians must KEEP the Sabbath day in order to be saved.
We will take one argument at a time. And in order to save some time and space by not repeating the SAME argument over and over which this Sabbatarian writer CLAIMS are 60 different reasons, I will combine all the so-called separate or different arguments together into ONE argument.
For you see, in truth, sometimes as many as four or five so-called different reasons are actually just ONE argument stated in four or five ways.
And it takes ALL four or five statements listed as different arguments to make just ONE argument. The EMPHASIS is mine.
So then, arguments #1-#7 are just ONE argument.
Here then are the first SEVEN arguments for Christians to keep the SEVENTH DAY Sabbath which are actually ONE and the SAME argument.
After reading these seven points as being just one argument, I will show WHY they do NOT prove that Christians must keep the weekly Sabbath DAY as a DAY of REST lest a Christian sins.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #1.
Genesis 2:1-3 teaches us that after working for six days God RESTED on the SEVENTH DAY.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #2.
The FACT that God RESTED on the SEVENTH DAY teaches us that God put his stamp on the seventh day as a day of REST. To illustrate this fact the day a person is BORN that day becomes their birthday. Therefore in the same way that no one can CHANGE the day they were BORN neither can the SEVENTH DAY be changed to another day.
In other words, when God rested on the SEVENTH DAY that day alone became the SABBATH day so man has no grounds to change the SABBATH, the day of REST to another day of the week.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #3.
Therefore, the Sabbath day must always remain on the SEVENTH DAY, because you cannot CHANGE the day you were BORN to another day that you were NOT born. God RESTED on the SEVENTH DAY.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #4.
Genesis 2:3 God BLESSED the SEVENTH DAY.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #5.
Exodus 20:11 God SANCTIFIED the SEVENTH DAY.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #6.
Genesis 2:1-3 God made the SEVENTH DAY in the garden of Eden.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #7.
God made the seventh day BEFORE the fall of mankind.
Therefore, the Sabbath day is NOT a TYPE or SHADOW of a future REST, because types and shadows were NOT introduced until AFTER the FALL of mankind.
As you can see, all seven so-called arguments are just ONE single argument stated in different ways.
And the reason WHY Genesis 2:1-3 does NOT prove that God gave Adam and Eve the fourth commandment to REST on the seventh day of the week is that Genesis 2:1-3 is a PROPHECY of Yahweh’s yet future rest in the world to come. This TRUTH can easily be seen in the LITERAL translation.
Here is the LITERAL translation of Genesis 2:1-3.
“And they ARE BEING finished the heavens and the earth and all the host of them
Genesis 2:2. And He is FINISHING Elohim in the SEVENTH day the work of Him which He did and He is CEASING in the day the seventh from all work of Him which He did
Genesis 2:3. And He is blessing (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) day of the seventh and He is making holy (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) him that in him He ceased from all of work of Him which He created Elohim to to do of.”
Now Sabbath keeping churches will dogmatically demand that the weekly Sabbath is NOT a shadow, figure, or type of anything that is to come.
But anyone truly seeking the TRUTH can clearly see that Genesis 2:1-3 is a PROPHECY of the 1000-year long SEVENTH day in which Yahweh will COMPLETE His work of His NEW CREATION through Jesus whom He Himself MADE Lord of the Sabbath AFTER the cross, according to Mark 2:28.
In other words, the SEVENTH day was NOT given the FORMULA from evening to morning.
It was the seventh day like the first six days. This points to the SEVENTH day NOT being like the other six days of creation.
Again, the LITERAL translation of Genesis 2:1-3 teaches us that in or DURING the SEVENTH day God will be FINISHING His creation through Jesus.
Now when we compare this with the NEW Testament we see that we, as Christians, will be given ETERNAL LIFE at the second coming of Jesus, which is the CLOSING or the ENDING of the SIXTH day.
And the seventh day starts at the coming of Jesus to rule as God of the whole earth FOR Yahweh in the NAME of Yahweh for a 1000 years.
This is why Jesus is called the Lord of the Sabbath.
Also, nowhere in Genesis does God ever COMMAND, teach, suggest or even imply for Adam, Eve, their children, their children's children or ANY of the early patriarchs recorded in the entire book of Genesis to KEEP the SEVENTH DAY as a DAY of REST.
So again, Genesis 2:1-3 is a PROPHECY of the SEVENTH 1000-year long day of God's REST during the 1000-year reign of His SON Jesus ruling FOR Yahweh during His God and Father’s day of REST.
This passage of Scripture in Genesis 2:1-3 is ALSO a prophecy of OUR future rest which BEGINS at the coming of Jesus.
But the very day we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior we enter into REST in Jesus for holiness and righteousness. And without RESTING in Jesus we cannot enter into the Seventh 1000-year long Sabbath rest.
So then, the truth of the matter is that God did NOT give ANY COMMANDMENT for ANY of mankind to KEEP the Sabbath day as a DAY of rest UNTIL God gave the TEN Commandments to Moses to give to the children of ISRAEL to keep throughout THEIR generations as a TYPE or shadow pointing to our TRUE rest we have in Jesus.
We will get to that Scripture in Exodus 31:13-17 when we get to argument #12 through argument #26. But for now, let us move on to point number four which to me is the SAME as the first three points.
Here again is the LITERAL translation of Genesis 2:1-3 .
“And they ARE BEING finished the heavens and the earth and all the host of them
Genesis 2:2. And He is FINISHING Elohim in the SEVENTH day the work of Him which He did and He is CEASING in the day the seventh from all work of Him which He did
Genesis 2:3. And He is blessing (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) day of the seventh and He is making holy (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) Him that in Him He ceased from all of work of Him which He created Elohim to to do of.”
And as you can see, God blessing is blessing the seventh day as a prophecy of the future Seventh 1000-year long day that He will take His Sabbath REST during the world to come that will last for 1000 years.
And Yahweh is sanctifying Jesus.
So the weekly Sabbath day being kept holy is a SHADOW pointing to Jesus to be kept holy. God made Jesus Lord of the Sabbath to rule FOR Yahweh in or during the seventh 1000-year long day of Yahweh’s REST.

Let us take a closer look at argument number 7 which CLAIMS that the weekly Sabbath day can NOT be a SHADOW pointing to Jesus.
First, you have to prove that God gave the fourth commandment to Adam before Adam sinned by eating of the forbidden tree of knowledge to know right from wrong.
Then you need to prove that there is no PROPHECY in Genesis chapter 1 and that Genesis 2:1-3 is NOT prophecy either.
So let us see what the Bible itself teaches us about Genesis chapter 1 being filled with PROPHECY and thus SHADOW existed in creation itself.
Let the Bible speak for ITSELF.
The very days of creation themselves are TYPES, SHADOWS and FIGURES of the true yet to come.
For example, God DIVIDED the LIGHT from the DARKNESS on the FIRST day of the week or the FIRST 1000 years.
And during that FIRST 1000 year day Adam ate from the tree of knowledge his eyes were open to DISCERN between GOOD and EVIL or LIGHT from DARKNESS.
All through the Bible LIGHT is a figure of GOOD and DARKNESS is the shadow of EVIL.
God divided the waters with a firmament on the SECOND day.
It did not rain during the first 1000-year day. God changed the way that the ground was watered, when He made it rain for forty days and forty nights at the flood of Noah during the SECOND 1000-year day.
God divided the waters and made dry ground appear on the THIRD day.
During the THIRD 1000-year day God divided the Red sea and made DRY ground appear.
God made two great lights on the FOURTH day, a greater light by day and a lesser light by night.
During the FOURTH 1000-year day God sent two great lights out into the world. The greater light was Jesus and the lesser light was John the baptist.
God created life in the waters on the FIFTH day. During the FIFTH 1000-year day the Holy Spirit represented by LIVING water was given to all who believe in Jesus.
God created man on the SIXTH day. At the end of the SIXTH 1000-year day God’s NEW creation of IMMORTAL RIGHTEOUS men and women will occur.
We are in the SIXTH day of creation presently.
God RESTED from all His works on the SEVENTH day. During the SEVENTH 1000-year day we, who believe NOW in this present world BEFORE the second coming of Jesus will REST with Almighty God the Father.
Adam himself was used to make a comparison between the NATURAL and the SPIRITUAL showing us that one day yet in the future that the natural will take upon that divine spiritual nature of immortality.
So do NOT let any Sabbath keeping Christian DECEIVE you dear child of God by saying that the Sabbath day is NOT a type or shadow of our future 1000-year day of REST and the REST we NOW have in Jesus.
Let us see what the Bible ITSELF teaches us about the SEVENTH DAY of creation being a shadow or figure of our yet future REST during the 1000-year reign of Jesus.
Please read Hebrews 4:1-16.
“Let us therefore fear, lest, a PROMISE being left us of ENTERING into His REST, any of you should seem to come short of it.
Hebrews 4:2. FOR (Or because) unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did NOT profit them, NOT being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Hebrews 4:3. For we which HAVE BELIEVED do ENTER into REST (This speaks of the BEGINNING of our faith in Jesus as our TRUE Sabbath REST as being the ENTRANCE into our yet future REST in the 1000-year SEVENTH day of REST.
Yahweh, Almighty God the Father HIMSELF shall REST during that SEVENTH 1000-year day of REST by committing His kingdom into the hands of His SON Jesus to rule and reign FOR Him during the SEVENTH DAY of 1000-years) as He said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into My rest: although the works were finished from the FOUNDATION of the world. (The writer of Hebrews in connecting the REST we have in Jesus with the SEVENTH DAY rest of creation when the works were FINISHED from the FOUNDATION of the world showing us that the SEVENTH DAY of creation was a type, shadow or figure of our yet future 1000-year day of REST beginning at the second coming of Jesus, which is yet future)
Hebrews 4:4. FOR (Or because) he spoke in a certain place of the SEVENTH DAY on this wise, And God did REST on the SEVENTH DAY from all His works.
Hebrews 4:5. And in this place again, If they shall enter into My rest.
Hebrews 4:6. Seeing, therefore, it remains that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered NOT in because of unbelief:
Hebrews 4:7. Again, He limits a certain day, saying in David, Today, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts.
Hebrews 4:8. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would He not afterward have spoken of another day. (This is speaking of the world to come which is a 1000-year long day.
We are now living in the SIXTH 1000-year long day from the creation of Adam, and the world to come is the Seventh 1000-year lang day called ANOTHER day that REMAINS for there to be a REST for SOME of God’s people that MUST rest because God PROMISED that He would turn again a SECOND TIME to deliver a REMNANT of His people Israel)
Hebrews 4:9 There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.
Hebrews 4:10. For he that is entered into His rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from His. (Presently, only Jesus has entered into God's COMPLETE REST having FINISHED the works that His God and Father commissioned Him to accomplish.
Jesus is the FIRST of the firstfruits unto God. Then we who are RESTING in Jesus for our holiness and righteousness will be the second harvest of fruitfruits at the coming of Jesus.
Then at the END of the seventh 1000-long day of the Sabbath of Yahweh the THIRD harvest of first fruits will be those saved DURING the 1000-year reign of Jesus in the world to come.)
Hebrews 4:11. Let us labor, THEREFORE, to enter into that REST, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. (Again, our labor or work is NOT our OWN works of righteousness, but rather, what things we accomplish is THROUGH HIS strength and not our OWN lest there be room for boasting.
Also, we are to labor to CEASE for doing the works of the law contained in ORDINANCES that Jesus ABOLISHED on the cross.

You do NOT want to be keeping what Jesus SUFFERED on the cross to ABOLISH)
Hebrews 4:12. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 4:13. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
Hebrews 4:14. SEEING THEN that we have a great high priest, that is PASSED into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, (To enter into His REST) let us hold fast our profession.
Hebrews 4:15. FOR (Or because) we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. (This teaches us that our labor to enter into God's rest is more than preaching the gospel.
We must also labor to live without sin, who is our example to follow who did no sin.
Now some of you who are Sabbath-keeping Christian may be thinking that breaking the fourth commandment is a sin and, therefore, we must labor to not break the Sabbath day.
If this is you, then you have not truly heard a word that Hebrews chapter 4 is saying to you about the SEVENTH DAY of creation being a figure of the SEVENTH 1000-year day of REST, which we as Christians have been given an ENTRANCE by our FAITH in Jesus who is the AUTHOR and the FINISHER of our FAITH.
So please read the study WHAT DOES HEBREWS 4:1-11 TRULY MEAN?)
Hebrews 4:16. Let us, therefore, come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Jesus said to the Jews to come unto Him for REST and to take HIS YOKE upon them, because His YOKE was EASY.
Please read Matthew 11:28-30.
“Come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you REST.
Matthew 11:29. Take My YOKE upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and you shall find REST unto your souls.
Matthew 11:30. For My YOKE is EASY, and My burden is light.”
The Bible ITSELF teaches us in simplicity that the law of Moses was a YOKE of BONDAGE and that neither the fathers nor those in the day of Jesus were able to keep all the law of Moses.
Please read Galatians 5:1.
“Stand FAST therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the YOKE of BONDAGE.”
Now please read Acts 15:10,11.
“Now therefore why TEMPT you God, to put a YOKE upon the neck of the disciples, which NEITHER our fathers nor we were able to BEAR?
Acts 15:11. But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they”
This YOKE of BONDAGE is the KEEPING of all the LAW of MOSES contained in ordinances given to the JEWS under the OLD Covenant, which were done away with at the cross. So then, the keeping of the Sabbath day under the OLD Covenant was indeed a SHADOW of our TRUE REST that we have in Jesus, which will be completed during our 1000-year day of REST beginning at the second coming of Jesus.
And beside all this sound Biblical evidence that proves to all who are sincerely seeking the TRUTH that the very days of creation are TYPES and SHADOWS PROPHESYING the TRUE, which was yet to come, there was no WORK to REST from BEFORE the fall of mankind. God provided everything that mankind needed.
WORK did not begin until AFTER the fall of mankind. So argument #7 falls way short of being even remotely a Biblical argument.
Anyone can give their own personal opinion, but this does not make their own opinion to be the truth of God’s word.
Let us move on to arguments number 8 and 9 which are basically the same argument.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #8.
Mark 2:27 Jesus said that the Sabbath was made for MAN which means ALL of mankind INCLUDING the GENTILES.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #9.
Mark 2:28 Jesus also said that He is the Lord of the Sabbath.
Yes, the Seventh 1000-year long Sabbath day of Yahweh’s REST in the world to come was made for ALL of mankind.
The lake of fire was made for Satan and the fallen angels.
And thus, God never intended for Adam to sin. But God had a plan of salvation already devised just in case the first Adam failed.
So THAT Sabbath was indeed made for WHOSOEVER believes in Jesus as their Lord and Savior to endure unto the end to be saved
However, the keeping of the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY as a DAY of REST was NOT given to ANY man until God gave the FOURTH commandment to the children of Israel.
God did NOT give the TEN Commandments to ANY Gentile until God turned the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles some 3 1/2 years after the church began on the Day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2.

Please read Exodus 31:12-17.
“And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
Exodus 31:13. Speak you also unto the CHILDREN of ISRAEL, saying, Verily my Sabbaths YOU shall KEEP: for it is a SIGN between Me and YOU throughout YOUR generations; that YOU may know that I am the LORD that does SANCTIFY YOU. (And HOW does Yahweh SANCTIFY people under the New COVENANT? By FAITH in Jesus! Or by keeping a DAY of the WEEK holy which was a SIGN pointing to our REST in Jesus as the TRUE REST? The law was a SCHOOLMASTER for the children of Israel to learn of Jesus through the SHADOWS in the ceremonial commandments)
Exodus 31:14. YOU (Speaking to the children of ISRAEL; YOU) shall keep the Sabbath therefore; (Or for this very REASON that it is a SIGN unto you that I the Lord is the one who SANCTIFIES YOU.
This is a shadow or type pointing to Jesus as Yahweh's salvation for His people Israel to be SANCTIFIED by the shed blood of Jesus and NOT by their OWN WORKS of the LAW) for it is holy unto YOU: every one (Of YOU, speaking to the understood subject being, the children of ISRAEL. So every one of the children of ISRAEL) that defiles it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever (Of ISRAEL) does any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Exodus 31:15. Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever (Of ISRAEL) does any work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Exodus 31:16. Wherefore, the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout THEIR generations, for a PERPETUAL COVENANT. (To the children of ISRAEL only and NOT to the church. The gospel of the New PERPETUAL COVENANT was preached ONLY to the Jews FIRST. And then after the majority of the Jew REJECTED Jesus as their Messiah, God turn the gospel of salvation in Jesus under the New Covenant to the Gentiles)
Exodus 31:17. It is a SIGN between Me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day He rested, and was refreshed.”
So what part of this verse do you not understand? The KEEPING of the Sabbath day was given ONLY to the children of ISRAEL to keep as a SIGN that it is the Lord God who will SANCTIFY his people.
A SIGN directs or points people to things. A SIGN is not the REAL thing, but something that is USED to point to that which is TRUE or REAL.
The Sabbath day was made for a SIGN to Israel FIRST that His people are HIS workmanship and not their OWN workmanship.
It is God ALONE, who sanctifies His people. And God began His sanctification with His people ISRAEL, but yet no man is justified by the LAW of Moses.
The Bible ITSELF clearly teaches us in SIMPLICITY with no interpretation needed that the LAW was the SCHOOLMASTER for the children of ISRAEL pointing them to JESUS. Gentiles were never under the LAW of Moses meaning the CEREMONIAL laws.
But Gentiles did keep the MORAL laws through their God given CONSCIENCE, according to Romans 2:14,15.
Now, we know beyond any shadow of a doubt that the FOURTH commandment under the Old Covenant was NOT given to anyone EXCEPT for the children of Israel.
And we know this as a FACT with no interpretation as to exactly WHEN the FOURTH commandment was given to the children of Israel and NOT to ANYONE before that time at Mount Horeb.
Please read Deuteronomy 5:1-4.
“And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears THIS DAY, that you may LEARN them, and keep, and do them.
Deuteronomy 5:2. The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.
Deuteronomy 5:3. The LORD made NOT this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day.
Deuteronomy 5:4. The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire,”
This passage of Scripture ALONE proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that God did NOT give the TEN Commandments to Adam and Eve at creation week.
This passage of Scripture PROVES that God gave the fourth commandment ONLY to the children of Israel at Mount Horeb after God delivered them out of bondage in the land of Egypt some 430 AFTER God made a covenant of PROMISE to Abraham. Then we read in verses 12,13 that God gave the FOURTH commandment for the very first time to ANYONE.
Deuteronomy 5:12-15.
“Keep (Or OBSERVE to DISCERN Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) the Sabbath day to sanctify it, (Or to make holy him speaking of honoring Jesus even as we honor Yahweh the Father) as the LORD your God has commanded you.
Deuteronomy 5:13. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work:
Deuteronomy 5:14. But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your ox, nor your ass, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates; that your manservant and your maidservant may rest as well as you.
Deuteronomy 5:15. And remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out thence through a mighty hand and by a stretched out arm: therefore, the LORD your God commanded you to keep (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) the sabbath day.”
The Aleph and the Tav is the FIRST and the LAST letter of the Hebrew alphabet like the Alpha and Omega are the FIRST and the LAST letters of the Greek Alphabet.
Jesus said, "I am the FIRST and the LAST.” And Jesus said that the Scriptures TESTIFY of Him.
Now that Aleph and Tav are not translated and the Jewish scholars believe that the untranslated Aleph and Tav are pointers to the Messiah in many verses of Scripture.
So I simply translated Aleph and Tav as Messiah Jesus.
So then, from the hidden SHADOWS of the Aleph and Tav we can see that the weekly Sabbath DAY of REST points to Jesus are our true REST.
And thus, the keeping of a DAY as being holy is a SHADOW of our Hallowing the name of Jesus.

So then, arguments #8 and #9 do NOT prove that Christians must keep the weekly Sabbath DAY lest we sin.
For you see, the true meaning of Mark 2:27 is that the Sabbath is speaking of the Seventh 1000-year long day of Yahweh’s Sabbath REST in the world to come.
And Mark 2:28 is a prophecy of Jesus being made Lord of the Sabbath to rule FOR Yahweh in the world to come while Yahweh takes His Sabbath REST during the 1000-year reign of Jesus.
Let us move on to argument number 10.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #10.
Exodus 20:11 and Exodus 31:17 The Sabbath day is a MEMORIAL.
Therefore, God wants us to REMEMBER the SABBATH DAY by RESTING on the SEVENTH DAY of the week and NOT on the FIRST day of the week.
First of all, there were many things in the Old Testament that were “MEMORIALS”, but that does NOT mean they are ETERNAL memorials to be remembered and practiced under the New Covenant.
For example, God no longer accepts burnt offerings but under the Old Covenant that was a MEMORIAL to the children of Israel, according Leviticus 2:9 and Numbers 10:10.
We have already learned about the untranslated Aleph and Tav as being pointers to Messiah Jesus.
And when you look at how many times the Aleph and Tav appear next to the word Sabbath then it becomes crystal clear that the keeping of the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY as a DAY of REST is a SIGN or a SHADOW pointing to our TRUE Sabbath REST in Jesus for holiness and righteousness
So then, AFTER the SEED came, speaking of Jesus coming and dying on the cross for the sins of the whole world, then Jesus became the Sabbath REST for all who BELIEVE.
Thus, we as Christian, now keep the FIRST day of the week as a MEMORIAL of our LORD'S and a MEMORIAL of the Lord’s DAY of being RESURRECTED from the dead on the FIRST day of the week.
In other words, we are not yet actually in the world to come, but we REST in Jesus having a peace that passes all understanding that we will receive eternal life in the world to come.
And then we will rejoice in our completed REST knowing that the second death will have no power over us once we receive the END of our salvation at the coming of Jesus.
Also, prophecies teach us that the NAME of the Lord is Jesus who is our MEMORIAL.

Let us move on to number 11 through number 14 because they are the same argument that the fourth commandment was given to Adam at creation week.
Read through their argument first and then I will show why they do NOT prove that God gave the keeping of the weekly Sabbath day to Adam at creation week.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #11.
Mark 2:27 and Genesis 2:1-3 The Sabbath day was given to Adam the HEAD of creation meaning that the Sabbath was given to ALL of mankind as a day of REST.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #12.
Therefore the keeping of the Sabbath day was NOT a Jewish institution, because God established the SEVENTH DAY as a day of REST some 2,300 years BEFORE there ever was a Jew.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #13.
The Bible never calls the Sabbath day the JEWISH Sabbath. But always calls the SEVENTH DAY the Sabbath of the Lord your God. So therefore be very cautious dear Christian how you STIGMATIZE God's Holy day of REST.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #14.
There are many evident references throughout the patriarchal age. See Genesis 2:1-3, 8:10-12, 29: 27-28, etc.
Again this is the same argument as #1-#10 which do NOT prove that God gave the FOURTH commandment of keeping the seventh day holy by resting on the seventh DAY of the WEEK.

And also read Dd-22. WAS THE SABBATH GIVEN AT CREATION WEEK?
In argument 14, they cite Genesis 8:1-12 which is Noah releases a dove to find dry land and then SEVEN DAYS later repeats this process again after another SEVEN DAYS. So they see the words “SEVEN DAYS” and they INTERPRET that to mean that Noah released the dove on the Sabbath day.
If Genesis 8:10-12 means anything at all, then it is a TYPE or figure of finding REST in Jesus.
The earth was under the bondage of water and the dove found not REST for his feet until the waters of bondage were removed.
So then, these verses POINT to our FUTURE REST, when we as Christians are taken up into our ARK of safety, while the WRATH of God is being poured out on ISRAEL for their sin of UNBELIEF of NOT believing on Jesus as their REST taught to us in the book of Hebrews.
Now why do you suppose that the dove RETURNED NOT BACK again? Obviously, the dove FOUND REST.
So then, those RETURNING to the LAW of Moses, to me, obviously have NOT FOUND their TRUE REST in JESUS and have RETURNED to the LAW.
And the keeping of the Law of Moses cannot not ever possibly give them the TRUE REST that can be found ONLY in Jesus the Christ, the SON of the living God, who says to ALL come unto me all you that are heavy laden and take upon you my REST.
And it is beyond me how anyone can interpret Genesis 29:17,18 to mean that Jacob kept the Sabbath day.
In fact, this passage of Scripture ACTUALLY teaches us that Jacob WORKED the ENTIRE seven days a WEEK INCLUDING WORKING on the SEVENTH DAY.
In other words, Jacob WORKED ALL SEVEN days being a figure of working a FULL SEVEN YEARS.
To say that another way, Jacob did NOT work for SIX years and then REST on the seventh year waiting to be given Rachael as his wife.
So again, this seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping argument is grasping at any verse of Scripture with the word SEVEN in it to TRY and make it APPEAR as if Noah and Jacob rested on the seventh day which to me is DECEPTIVE teaching.
The TRUTH of the matter is that no man ever KEPT the Sabbath day, UNTIL it was given as a commandment for the children of ISRAEL to keep throughout THEIR generations.
Nowhere in Scripture is ALL of mankind ever commanded to keep the WEEKLY Sabbath day.
We have already proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that God gave the FOURTH commandment for the very FIRST time to the children of Israel at Mount Horeb.
So any verse of Scripture that is “interpreted” to mean that God gave the Sabbath day at creation is INCORRECTLY interpreted. For you see, that “INTERPRETATION” of God giving the keeping of the weekly Sabbath day to Adam CONTRADICTS Deuteronomy 5:1-4.
Let us move on to argument number 15 and 16.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #15.
Exodus 16:4, 23-29 The Sabbath was a part of God's law BEFORE Mount Sinai.

ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #16.
Exodus 20:1-17 Then God placed the keeping of the Sabbath day of rest in His MORAL law.
So WHY did God place the commandment of keeping the SEVENTH DAY holy in the HEART of the MORAL law if the fourth commandment was to be DIFFERENT from that other nine MORAL commandments, which all Christian agree are IMMUTABLE and are NOT to be CHANGED or abolished?

But for now, the simple answer is that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY was given as a SIGN pointing to our REST in Jesus to enter into the New PERPETUAL COVENANT established in the shed blood of Jesus,

Let us continue with argument number 17.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #17.
Deuteronomy 4:12,13 The SEVENTH DAY Sabbath was given by the VOICE of Almighty God Himself.
And Noah was commanded by the VOICE of Almighty God Himself to build an Ark but that does not mean that we are to go out and build an Ark.
When people heard the VOICE of Almighty God it was God speaking to THEM and not necessarily speaking to all of mankind.
So then, to me, this passage of Scripture does NOT prove that the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY is BINDING on Christians.

But for now, let us continue with argument numbers 18 and 19.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #18.
Exodus 31:18 Then Almighty God himself wrote the commandment of keeping the SEVENTH DAY Sabbath with His OWN finger.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #19.
Deuteronomy 5:22 God Himself ENGRAVED the commandment of keeping the SEVENTH DAY Sabbath in STONE, which teaches us of the Sabbath's imperishable everlasting nature.
First of all, these two points in #17,#18 and all the arguments from #17-#21 deals with the Sabbath being on the SEVENTH day.
And no true born again Christian who is looking for their yet future SEVENTH 1000-year day of REST during the 1000-year reign of Jesus will argue against the TRUE Sabbath rest not being during the Seventh 1000-year long DAY of Yahweh’s REST.
So then, all Christians know and agree that the Sabbath was given by Almighty God Himself to be kept on the SEVENTH day.
God rested on the SEVENTH day. But WHY? Why did God REST on the SEVENTH day?
Does God resting on the Seventh DAY prove that Christians MUST keep the fourth commandment by resting on the seventh DAY of the WEEK lest we sin?
No! It is NOT a sin for Christians who do NOT rest on a DAY of the WEEK.
In fact, the Apostle Paul teaches us that those who KEEP DAYS are WEAK in their FAITH.
Also, Moses threw down the FIRST set of the two tablets of stone that were engraved with the very finger of God and BROKE them, according to Exodus 32:15-19, and Deuteronomy 19:16,17.
Moses is a figure of Jesus who BROKE this FIRST covenant with the children of Israel at the cross with his shed blood to establish the New PERPETUAL COVENANT.
Please read Exodus 31:16.
“Wherefore, (Or for this very reason of WHY you shall be put to DEATH for NOT RESTING in the seventh) the children of Israel shall keep (Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) the Sabbath, to OBSERVE (Or to DISCERN and PERCEIVE Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus) the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a PERPETUAL COVENANT.”
It does NOT say for a perpetual COMMANDMENT. But rather, the keeping of the weekly Sabbath DAY was given to the children of Israel to KEEP so that they would DISCERN that Jesus is their Messiah to enter into the New PERPETUAL COVENANT established in the shed blood of Jesus at the cross.
Also, I know that it seems as if God engraved the second set of stone tablets with His finger as well but according to Exodus 34 it was Moses who wrote the words of Yahweh on the second set of the two tables of stone.
Please read Exodus 34:27-29
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Write YOU these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.
Exodus 34:28. And he (Moses) was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the TABLES the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments. (So then, it was Moses who wrote the TEN Commandment on the second set of the two TABLES of STONE and NOT the finger of Almighty God Himself)
Exodus 34:29. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone while he talked with Him.”
So then, the fact that God engraved the first set of the two STONE tablets with His very own FINGER does NOT prove that the keeping of the WEEKLY Sabbath DAY is binding on Christians under the New PERPETUAL COVENANT. Again, please read the study Dd-15. THE WEEKLY SABBATH IS A SIGN!
Let us move on to argument number 20.
ARGUMENT FOR THE SABBATH #20.
Deuteronomy 10:21 The commandment of keeping the SEVENTH DAY was sacredly preserved in the ark of the covenant being kept in the Holy of Holies.
The reference above should have been Deuteronomy 10:1,2.
Again, there is no doubt that God preserved the FOURTH commandment.
So it is not a matter of MUST we keep the FOURTH commandment, but rather, it is the question of HOW we KEEP the fourth commandment.
For you see, Jesus did NOT abolish ANY of the commandments of Almighty God. But rather, Jesus FULFILLED all the CEREMONIAL commandments that were services unto or to Yahweh.
In other words, the commandment of “SACRIFICE” was not abolished but FULFILLED at the cross.
And NOW, under the New PERPETUAL COVENANT we KEEP the commandment of “sacrifice” by our FAITH in Jesus as the TRUE SACRIFICE for the forgiveness of sins.
Another example is that the commandment of “CIRCUMCISION” was not abolished but FULFILLED at the cross.
And NOW, under the New PERPETUAL COVENANT we KEEP the commandment of “circumcision” by our FAITH in Jesus as the TRUE CIRCUMCISION made WITHOUT hand as being the new sign of being in a covenant relationship with Yahweh under His New PERPETUAL COVENANT.
And yet another example of Jesus FULFILLING the law is the commandment to keep the feast of Passover.
We can clearly see that the ordinances contained in the feast of Passover are SHADOWS pointing to Jesus as our TRUE Passover Lamb.
So then the OLD WAY of keeping the feast of Passover under the Old Covenant was abolished but the commandment ITSELF was NOT abolished.
And thus, under the New Covenant we KEEP the COMMANDMENT itself by keeping the SPIRIT of the commandment and NOT the OLDNESS of the LETTER of the commandment contained in ORDINANCES.
And in the SAME way, we ARE KEEPING the FOURTH commandment, but in a NEW WAY under the New Covenant.
In other words, the keeping of DAYS were all SHADOWS pointing to Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus and the New PERPETUAL COVENANT established in His shed blood on the cross.
And for me, to KEEP what Jesus ABOLISHED is DISPLEASING to God rather than pleasing to God.
Please read Galatians 3:1-29.
“O foolish Galatians, who has BEWITCHED you, THAT you should not obey the TRUTH, before whose eyes Jesus Christ has been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
Galatians 3:2. This only would I learn of you, (Or answer YOU dear reader and seeker of the TRUTH answer YOU me these things?) Received you the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of FAITH? (Every true born again Christian KNOWS beyond any shadow of a doubt that we received salvation through Jesus by FAITH and NOT by the LAW of Moses under the OLD Covenant)
Galatians 3:3. Are you so foolish? (THEN) Having BEGUN in the Spirit, are you now made perfect by the flesh? (Prayerfully, your answer is of course not for no flesh is justified by the LAW)
Galatians 3:4. Have you suffered so many things in VAIN? If it be yet in vain. (Meaning that there is still time to repent and come out from the bondage of TRYING to be saved by the LAW of Moses under the OLD Covenant)
Galatians 3:5. He therefore that ministers to you the Spirit, and works miracles among you, does he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of FAITH? (So ask yourself how were you saved?
Were you told that you must keep all the Law of Moses perfectly BEFORE you are truly saved?
If so, then you were NOT told the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ and you need to get OUT of that seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping church denomination right NOW!

The Bible ITSELF teaches us in Ephesians 2:8-10 that we are saved by grace through FAITH and NOT by the word of the law of commandments contained in ORDINANCES. Please read the following studies:

But for now, ley ud continue with this study)
Galatians 3:6. Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.
Galatians 3:7. KNOW you, therefore, that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham.
Galatians 3:8. And the Scripture, FORESEEING that God would justify the heathen through FAITH, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In you shall ALL NATIONS be blessed. (So then, BEFORE Jesus the ONE nation ISRAEL was KEPT by the Law UNTO the time when the SEED would come.
So again, God never CHANGED or ABOLISHED anything, but rather FORESEEING that ALL of mankind was ORDAINED to be save through His SON Jesus the LAW was only ADDED UNTIL the time that Jesus came to all who BELIEVE on Jesus as the CHRIST, the SON of the living God)
Galatians 3:9. So then, they which be of FAITH are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Galatians 3:10. FOR (Or BECAUSE) as many as are of the works of the LAW are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in ALL things which are written in the book of the LAW to do them. (This is speaking of all the CEREMONIAL laws, dietary laws, the laws governing the manner of dressing, the keeping of the feast days and yes the keeping of the weekly Sabbath day, and so forth, but NOT the MORAL laws related to sinning against God by sinning against our fellow man, which are summed up as LOVE one another)
Galatians 3:11. But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by FAITH. (This is speaking of keeping ALL the Law of Moses CONTAINED in ORDINANCES that Jesus abolished and nailed to the cross. And while we are still not justified by the keeping of the MORAL commandment we must keep them nonetheless.
But again, keeping what Jesus ABOLISHED is a SIN in my own opinion. The keeping of DAYS as days of REST was a SHADOW pointing to our TRUE REST in Jesus for holiness and righteousness. Jesus is the END of the law for righteousness, according to Romans 10:4)
Galatians 3:12. And the law is NOT of faith: but, The man that does them shall live in them.
Galatians 3:13. Christ has REDEEMED us (Or has become our ATONEMENT to FREE us from the BONDAGE of sin and) from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangs on a tree:
Galatians 3:14. THAT (Or so that) the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through FAITH.
Galatians 3:15. Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; (Or I, the Apostle Paul, make an analogy of how man makes a covenant or a contract with another man) Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man dis annul, or ADDS thereto.
Galatians 3:16. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. (In other words, God made His covenant with ABRAHAM and confirmed that covenant of PROMISE with Moses and in doing so) He said not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of ONE, And to your seed, which is Christ.
Galatians 3:17. And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in CHRIST, (His SON Jesus) the law, which was four hundred and thirty years AFTER, cannot dis annul, (Or ADD to the covenant made with Abraham) that it should make the PROMISE of none effect.
Galatians 3:18. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by PROMISE.
Galatians 3:19. WHEREFORE, (Or for WHAT REASON) then serve the law? It (Speaking of ALL the LAW given to Moses to give to the children of ISRAEL for them to keep throughout their generation as a SCHOOLMASTER) was ADDED because of transgressions, TILL the SEED should come (Or TILL the PROMISE of the Aleph Tav Messiah Jesus the Christ, the SON of the living God should come) to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. (And the TRUE gospel of Jesus Christ as being the PROMISED one to come was preached to the Jews FIRST just like it is prophesied in the Bible)
Galatians 3:20. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.
Galatians 3:21. Is the law (Speaking of the MORAL commandments of God) then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law. (But the fact remains that the law was NOT given to make mankind righteous before God.
Can you not my dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ, SALVATION was ordained by Almighty God HIMSELF to be in His SON Jesus BEFORE the foundation of the world, according to Ephesians 1:4.
And the Law of Moses was only added as a schoolmaster to POINT the Jews to Jesus.
And when they rejected him God PROPHESIED in His word that He would turn to the GENTILES and offer us so great a salvation.
So again, God did NOT CHANGE anything, but rather, GRACE is the FULFILLMENT of PROPHECY to save the Gentiles and His people the Jews by FAITH in His SON Jesus as our atonement for sins)
Galatians 3:22. But the Scripture has CONCLUDED all under sin, THAT (Or so that) the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that BELIEVE.
Galatians 3:23. But BEFORE faith came, we (The children of ISRAEL) were KEPT under the law, (Or kept under the BONDAGE of the law) shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Galatians 3:24. WHEREFORE, (Or for this very REASON) the law was our (the JEWS) SCHOOLMASTER to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Galatians 3:25. But AFTER that faith is come, we are no LONGER UNDER a schoolmaster. (Or we are no longer under the LAW speaking of ALL the Law of Moses contained in ordinances in the CEREMONIAL laws.
In other words, the law as being a TEACHER to lead us to Jesus has done its job.
And thus, there is no more need to keep the Law of Moses because we now know and understand that the ordinances contained in the FOURTH commandment were SHADOWS pointing to Jesus just like Apostle Paul teaches us in Colossians 2:14-17.
Now, Christians still must obey the MORAL commandments of God. Please read the study F-10. Without Holiness no Man shall SEE the Lord!
But Christians are KEEPING ALL the ceremonial commandments by keeping the SPIRIT of the TRUE MEANING for why the commandments were given to the children of Israel in the first place.
Please read the study. Dd-10. Must We Keep the 4th Commandment?
Galatians 3:26. For you are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:27. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Galatians 3:28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:29. And if you be Christ's, then are you Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
Again, the keeping of the Sabbath day was a schoolmaster pointing the Jews to the REST that we as Christians have been given in Jesus.
The SEVENTH day points to our SEVENTH 1000-year day of REST during the 1000-year reign of Jesus.
And NOW that FAITH has come we are no LONGER UNDER the SCHOOLMASTER of the CEREMONIAL laws of God.
Please understand and know that I myself do indeed teach my readers that they are to KEEP the MORAL commandments of God as a matter of receiving the END of our salvation, our reward of eternal life in the world to come.
But like the disciples of Jesus, I do NOT teach that Christian MUST keep the fourth commandment of keeping the Sabbath DAY as a DAY of REST, because resting on a DAY of the week is keeping the LETTER of the law.
Now arguments #21 through #26 all refer to ISRAEL keeping and not keeping the Sabbath days and have nothing whatsoever to say about the church being punished for NOT keeping the Sabbath days that God gave ONLY to the children of Israel for them to keep throughout their generations as a SIGN for a PERPETUAL COVENANT.
So then, this concludes part 1 of this study on the 60 arguments for keeping the weekly Sabbath day as a day of rest.
And in part 2, I will pick up again at point #27 with the explanation from the Bible ITSELF why these seventh day of the week Sabbath-keeping arguments do NOT prove that Christians must rest on the seventh DAY of the WEEK in order to receive eternal life in the world to come, according to Revelation 22:12-15. the end of our salvation, our reward of eternal life, for keeping the COMMANDMENTS of God as Jesus clearly taught us in Revelation 22:12-15.

And to me, the truth concerning who Jesus TRULY is, according to the Bible ITSELF, is the Biblical Unitarian view of Jesus.
Once Christians, Jews, Muslims, and even atheists understand the REASON that Yahweh CREATED the Son of MAN, Jesus, was to have DOMINION over the work of Yahweh’s hands.
And after you understand that the REASON that Yahweh did that is to STILL His ENEMIES, Satan and the fallen angels.
Then you can understand that God made His human Son to become “a” Lord, “a” King, and “a” God, under and subject to his God and Father in order to JUDGE Satan and the fallen angels.
