✏️✏️ Vertical and horizontal Review ✏️✏️
Our Programme of Inquiry (POI) was collaboratively developed last academic year through structured planning sessions involving the PYP leadership team and teaching staff. The process focused on ensuring vertical and horizontal alignment, conceptual balance across transdisciplinary themes, and clear connections to the PYP learner profile, key concepts, and ATL skills. During the current academic year, the POI has been systematically reviewed through teacher reflections, unit evaluations, student learning evidence, and feedback from ongoing professional learning. Adjustments have been made to strengthen conceptual depth, address repetition or gaps, and improve coherence across grade levels. The POI remains a living document. Review and refinement are ongoing as part of our commitment to continuous improvement, responsive curriculum design, and alignment with the updated IB PYP framework.
Unit Plans: A Journey of Growth
Designing our unit plans was not easy at the beginning. It required time, collaboration, and a shift in how we think about teaching and learning. Through ongoing practice, reflection, and professional dialogue, we are still learning how to thoughtfully design meaningful learning experiences and reflect on our teaching to continuously improve student learning.

Beginning of Unit letters communicate the purpose of the inquiry, central idea, key concepts, and learning expectations, ensuring shared understanding among students, parents, and teachers. These letters support curriculum alignment by clearly connecting the planned learning experiences to the Programme of Inquiry, subject integration, ATL skills, and learner profile attributes, strengthening coherence between planning, teaching, and learning.
Daily plans reflect the implementation of the written curriculum in action, demonstrating inquiry-based teaching, differentiation, and purposeful learning experiences aligned with the Programme of Inquiry, ATL skills, and learner profile attributes.
