We are entering the last grading period of the year. I hope everyone is prepared to finish this school year strong. Report cards for the 3rd grading period will go home with students this week.
Our Varsity football team got a huge home win over Freedom on Friday night. The Cougars earned a 53-12 victory in their first home game of the season. Keep it up! We have more Cougar sports' starting up this week. See the schedule below and visit GoFan to purchase tickets to our athletic events.

Report cards will be sent home on March 16th and 18th.
Students are allowed to come into the building, starting at 9:00, on Wednesdays to receive additional support from their teachers. Students must sign up with their teacher(s) or the media center in order to be on campus on Wednesdays. The morning session runs from 9-11 and the afternoon session is from 12-3. Signing up is a requirement to ensure social distancing protocols are upheld and teachers are able to best serve our students. Upon arrival to campus, students should immediately check in at the main office then report to their designated location. Students must remain in the location where they have signed up and are not allowed to be in unauthorized areas of the building. All school rules apply when students are at school on Wednesdays.
Monday, March 29th will be an A-day and Tuesday, March 30th will be a B-day. This adjustment is made for all of Alexander County Schools to accommodate for Spring Break.
Spring break is April 2nd - April 9th.
Our annual Wilkes Community College Connection will take place on March 16th and 18th. Representatives of Wilkes Community College will meet virtually with any student that has applied to discuss registration and confirm their program of study. If there are any questions, please email Mr. Allen or Mr. Rangel.
Mitchell Community College will be holding virtual open house events on March 4, 18, 25, and April 1st. To register, click HERE.
Local scholarships are now available to seniors. Seniors should check their email for more information or visit the Counseling Center with any questions.

The prom date has been set for April 17th. Please review the document found HERE has been updated outlining current COVID restrictions.

ACHS Juniors and Seniors can attend.
Event will be held Saturday, April 17th. There will be 4 sessions for students, capping attendance at 75 students per session.
Cost for this event is $15, and tickets will be available through GoFan March 15th- 31st.
The date for graduation is June 4th. Graduation decisions will be made based on COVID restrictions at the time of graduation. If restrictions are lifted and we are able to have a traditional graduation, it will take place on the evening of June 4th. If restrictions are in place, we will make modifications to our traditional graduation. We will keep you updated as decisions are made.

Lowe's Campus Captain Award Winner
ACHS Athletic Trainer, Stacy Davis, was awarded the Lowe's Campus Captain Award. This award recognizes Stacy's effort to build back sports during the COVID pandemic. Stacy has worked relentlessly throughout the pandemic to keep ACHS students and athletes safe. She works countless hours here at ACHS to make sure our student athletes are successful on and off the field. This year Stacy risen to the challenges presented because of the pandemic. ACHS is lucky to have you, Stacy. Thank you for all of your dedication and hard work!
