May 31 - June 6
Cougar Nation,
We had a great week of testing and are looking forward to graduation. Tuesday and Thursday are normal school days from 8am - 3:05pm again this week. If a student missed a Final Exam they can take it this week. Students are expected to stay all day. Also, students need to check-in online on their remote days and can still come for extra help on Wednesday.
Be sure to review the Graduation Information listed below under Important Dates!
I hope everyone has a great week. Don't forget to always Bring your A-game!
Mr. Palmer
The date for graduation is the evening of Friday, June 4th. We are planning for a traditional graduation ceremony in the stadium.
With the announcement from Governor Cooper last week, we will be at 100% capacity for our 2020-2021 ACHS Graduation. We excited to celebrate this tremendous event with our students and families. We will hold our graduation ceremony in the stadium with a 6:30pm start time. We will also have a parade after the ceremony for the graduates like we did last year. The parade will start 20 minutes after the graduation ceremony has concluded.
***There will be no airhorns allowed at the Graduation Ceremony.
STUDENT ARRIVAL
**Graduates need to arrive and be in the auditorium at 5:30 on the day of graduation. JUNIOR MARSHALS will need to arrive at 5:00.

Tassels on caps should be Blue or Gold (for Beta Club)
Mrs. Berry can assist if anyone is in need of clothes
**Graduation in the stadium and the parade are weather dependent. In the case of inclement weather, we will hold the graduation ceremony in the Varsity gym. Graduates will be given 4 tickets for the Varsity Gym and 3 tickets for the Auditorium.
GUEST ARRIVAL
**Gates will open in the stadium at 4:30 to allow people to start entering for the ceremony. The Taylorsville Police Department or ACHS will not be responsible for any items left unattended.
PARKING
**ALL Vehicles (except valid Handicap and vehicles in the Parade) need to enter ACHS from School Drive.
**Vehicles that are displaying a valid DMV Handicap Placard will be allowed to park at the ACHS Field House (NJROTC/SSC lot) or sophomore lot. These vehicles will be allowed to enter ACHS campus using the Liledoun entrance. NO OTHER VEHICLES will be allowed to enter using this entrance. Handicap parking is first come service so please plan accordingly, as there are limited spaces available. Once all handicap parking is full, vehicles will be directed to the School Drive entrance to the traffic circle. At that time you will be able to let out any person(s) needing assistance and golf carts will transport those in need to the stadium. Those vehicles will then have to exit the circle and find parking in the lot if there are any spots available or off campus if there are no spots available on campus.
**Vehicles in the parade will need a Parade ticket to enter the Liledoun entrance to park in reserved Parade parking. Graduates will get Parade Parking tickets at graduation practice.
LIVESTREAM
**We are working on setting up a livestream of graduation. We will livestream the ceremony whether it is inside the Varsity gym or in the stadium. If the ceremony is held in the stadium there will be no visitors allowed inside the school or auditorium.
PARADE
**Graduates wanting to participate in the parade will need a parent or guardian to drive the vehicle. They will have reserved parking in the top lot of the parking lot. Graduates will be given a ticket for the reserved parade parking at graduation practice. Any graduate wanting to participate in the parade will need this ticket. All graduates have been given rules and information regarding the parade.
GRADUATION PRACTICE FOR SENIORS
**There will be 2 mandatory practices on Thursday, June 3rd at 9am and Friday, June 4th at 9am. Graduates MUST attend both practices.
We will continue to communicate information regarding graduation.
If you would like to order Graduation Pictures from Steve Allen Multimedia, please complete the form and bring it to graduation. Mr. Allen will have a table setup where you can turn in the forms. This guide is useful for sending out to parents/guardians to give them an overview of the surveys, and this proctor guide gives specific instructions for how adults can help children take their surveys.
This article is designed for students themselves to visit and learn more about how they can access, take, and submit their surveys.
The Emergency Broadband Benefit Program gives low-income households a discount on internet services so they don’t have to decide between purchasing broadband and other necessities as they work and learn at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. The program, administered by the Federal Communications Commission, opens for enrollment on May 12, 2021.
Households may receive a discount of up to $50 a month for their internet bill. That rises to $75 a month for broadband service on tribal lands. Households may also receive $100 to buy a laptop, desktop or tablet through their internet provider.
The following frequently asked questions offer helpful information on participation and outreach for consumers, community groups and providers.
