Introduction to DNA sequencing project

Learning goals

Students will extract DNA from herbal supplements and sequence it to determine what plant species are in the supplement and whether the species in the supplement match the supplement's label.

By the end of this multi-step project, you should be able to describe all of the steps in the process, and the chemical reactions occurring.

After exploring the contents of this folder, you should be able to describe the problems in the herbal supplement industry, and why we would want to test the contents of herbal supplements to see if they match the product labels.
