HONORS & AWARDS

As per qualification criteria, to be on the Dean’s List, a student shall attain the following academic excellence performance:

(a) a GPA of 1.25 or higher – First Honor Category;

(b) a GPA of 1.50 or higher – Second Honor Category;

(c) a GPA of 1.75 or higher – Third Honor Category;

(d) not committed any major offense during the particular semester; and,

(e) no grade lower than 2.50 in any academic courses or subjects (NSTP for first-year level is not included)

The policy guidelines and conditions in conferring titles of honors to graduates who exhibited academic excellence are as follows.

The following honors shall be awarded to graduating students who satisfy the absolute minimum weighted average (GWA), subject to other provided conditions:

 4.2.2.1 Summa Cum Laude (With Highest Distinction) - GWA of not lower than 1.200, with no grade lower than 2.00 in any subject

 4.2.2.2 Magna Cum Laude (With Great Distinction) - GWA of not lower than 1.450, with no grade lower than 2.25 in any subject

4.2.2.3 Cum Laude (With Distinction) - GWA of not lower than 1.750, with no grade lower than 2.50 in any subject

The computation of GWA is taken as:

GWA=                  Sum  of Grades x Units in all subjects

The Latin honors are awarded to graduating students subject to the following conditions as well: 

• Four-year residence or 100% of the total credit in the school

• A full-time student enrolled in the required number of academic units per semester, unless a lighter load is given due to justifiable causes as may be determined by the College Dean

• No failing grade or unremoved Incomplete (INC) grade in any course, including PE and NSTP;

• No record of major or grave offenses and infractions of the AiTECH Student Manual, nor have been convicted by final judgment of crimes involving moral turpitude
