Reiki was developed in Japan as a practice of energy work and non-invasive therapeutic touch. It creates a deep state of peace and relaxation that stimulates the client's own natural healing mechanisms. It encourages and strengthens self-awareness, healing, balance and wellbeing.
The benefits of reiki are beginning to be recognized around the world by the medical community. As a result, Reiki is now being used in a wide variety of settings, including hospitals and National Health Services. In the UK and USA, hospitals are incorporating it into their roster of patient services as a cost-effective way to improve patient care. These include but are not limited to: stress and mood disorders, physiotherapy, mental health challenges, psychological illnesses, addictions and drug and alcohol abuse, brain injury rehabilitation, infertility, chronic pain, Parkinson's disease, digestive problems, cardiology, and as complements to conventional cancer treatments. In the USA alone, more than 800 hospitals are offering Reiki nationwide.
Bernice has been practicing Reiki for over 20 years. She works with children, teens and adults. Her practice is a 5-minute drive from AISCT.
