I was born and raised in the Mother city Cape Town, in the Western Cape of South-Africa. I am passionate about working with children and families and have 15 years of experience. I studied at the University of the Western Cape where I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Social Work and worked in the filed of Child Protection. I obtained my Masters Degree in Child and Family Studies. My thesis was based on Children's knowledge of and access to their basic rights. I ventured on in Clinical Social Work where I worked in the substance abuse field with recovering addicts, families and adolescents, before I commenced in a school environment as a school counselor at Herschel Girls School in Claremont for the past 8 years. When I am not working with little people, I am a proud wife and aunt, as family connection is important to me. I enjoy experiencing new restaurants with friends, a good cup of coffee, and getaways in the Overberg with my husband to recharge from the busyness of life. I am thrilled to commence my new journey as a lower school counselor at AISCT.

I am a "Third Culture Kid" through and through. I was born in England, raised in Poland, and attended a number of different school systems: Polish nursery, followed by a British School in Warsaw, and finally, 10 years at the American School of Warsaw. This was followed by 7 years of higher education in Scotland. I obtained my Masters degree in Psychology & Business Management from The University of St. Andrews, and then my Postgraduate Diploma in Counseling & Psychotherapy from Edinburgh University.
This is my 7th year as an international school counselor and my second year at AISCT. Previously I worked as a middle school counselor at the American School of Warsaw, Poland. Before that, I worked for a number of different psychological support services- for both adults and children- throughout the UK, and ran my own counseling clinic (Core Care Counseling) in London.
I greatly enjoy hiking and the outdoors, and am determined to explore all the beautiful nature that Southern Africa has to offer! When I'm not at school, I love painting, and have ran or taken part in a number of exhibitions across Europe. I also love cooking, reading, self-development and psychology, the sunshine, performance art and live music.
This is my first year at AISCT and I'm looking forward to a wonderful year. I'm from Japan but grew up as a "Third Culture Kid" in Indonesia and the Philippines attending international schools, so I'm excited to be back in the international school environment!

I have a BA in Visual Journalism from Biola University and an MA in School Counseling from Chapman University. For the past 6 and a half years, I've been working as a school counselor in California, mostly at a high school. Prior to becoming a counselor, I taught English for a few years in Japan and worked in a college readiness program for students from underprivileged backgrounds in California.
