Under the North Star has ended. This campaign is sadly over. Please visit our main website for the new projects!
That's for you to decide! We welcome newcomers and strangers on the internet, as long as you abide by community rules.
You can expect a moderate amount of effort on your part that goes into the missions, and you will need to read up the plan for your flight and talk to your flight lead a bit before hand.
Certainly, you aren't required to be the second coming of Chuck Yeager, but you should have a solid understanding of your chosen airframe, and you should have the willingness to learn more. Yet, we aren't requiring any of that complex stuff some virtual air wings or squadrons do. Sign up, check with flight lead, show up, and fly!
Aircraft and other assets are limited, and while no one will hold it against you if you end up eating a missile in combat, you shouldn't just throw your plane at the enemy recklessly either.
In a shorter way: give your honest good faith effort.
You can play all the games, or some, or none and just observe. Become a flight lead, or just a wingman. Or hell, take command of the operation. It's largely all up to you!
And it is important you put your best effort in. These flights shouldn't be your first foray into DCS, nor your first attempt at commanding a submarine. Have the basics down.
Don't stress, either. We don't require a high skill level, and sometimes war is a heck.
If you think you need to brush upĀ a little bit, Air Goons runs 24/7 practice servers in many maps with user-spawned enemies and tasks to exercise with. At almost any given time, you can ask for some help or just a buddy to fly with. Goons are extremely helpful.
