Data Transfer Requests

If you are graduating from AGCS this year and would like to transfer the data in your school issued account to a personal Gmail account please submit the following form.

Students please note that once the request has been approved you will have a limited time frame to complete this process.  All graduating student accounts will be suspended ONE MONTH after graduation regardless of pending data transfers.

***Please note that you can only transfer content that you have created yourself in Google Drive. Files that are shared with you will not transfer over.***

To facilitate data transfer requests the IT Department will be using a service called Google Takeout. Once a student submits the form they will be given access to this service through the Google Admin Console. Students will receive a email from the IT Department once the service as been enabled. Once students receive that email they can begin the process of transferring their Google Drive and Gmail content from their assigned AGCS account to a personal Gmail Account. Please note that the actual transfer process can take upwards of a week to finish depending on the amount of data in the account. The IT Department encourages students to remove content from their Google Drive that is no longer needed to expedite the transfer process.  Please follow the tutorial below that guides students through the transfer process.

Please note that a personal Gmail account only has 15 GB of storage. If your AGCS account has more then 15 GB of data stored within it the transfer process will not work. We encourage graduating students to remove files from both accounts so the transfer will be successful. You cannot transfer all the files stored in your AGCS account if the personal Gmail account does not have enough space.

An option for those seniors interested in transferring their data is to upgrade the storage on their personal gmail accounts with Google One. Google One is a subscription service that adds additional storage to your personal Gmail account. You can add an additional 100 GB of storage to your account for $1.99 a month.  Subscribing to this service is merely a suggestion but we have found that having that extra storage in place ensures that the data transfer process with Google Takeout is not disrupted by lack of available storage in a personal Gmail account.  Click on the Google One logo to the left to be redirected to the official website.
