STEAM refers to disciplines that encompass Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths.
STEAM is important because it teaches critical thinking skills and encourages a passion for innovation. Beyond the benefit of learning science, technology, engineering, art and maths, STEAM assists in the problem-solving and exploratory learning that fuel success across a variety of tasks and disciplines.
Students that have the skills and knowledge obtained by studying and experiencing a broad range of STEAM activities are highly sought after in the workplace both in a STEAM profession and in wider employment.
At the New Forest Academy we aim to provide as many STEAM opportunities as possible both in timetabled lessons, extra curricular activities and educational trips and visits including;
The Winchester science Centre
Exxon Presentations
Exxon Site tours
STEAM club
The Etches collection
Oxford natural history
STEAM Speakers and Presentations
Our students clearly enjoy the STEAM experiences that we offer and the benefits from these opportunities are clear to see and are far reaching.
