Sporting Colours
Sporting colours are new this year! Pupils will gain sporting colours (and get given a badge with the sport on to wear on their blazers) if they take part in 3 or more fixtures in each sport. For cross country and athletics (when there is only 1 opportunity to take part), they will be given colours if they make it through to represent the district.
Sports Events
On top of our fixtures and extra curricular clubs there are also lots of sporting events that you can take part in. We will be doing:
Inter-tutor - Football, cross country, basketball, rugby and netball
A trip to watch a premiership womens rugby game at The Stoop
A trip to watch ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ at The Mayflower
Gym and Dance Competition and Showcase
A trip to watch a premier league netball match at Bath University
An inter-school tennis tournament
A trip to watch the T20 cricket at the Ageas Bowl
Sports Day
Sports Awards - we will award the junior and senior sports personality of the year, the junior and senior team of the year and many more
Sports Captains & Leadership Ambassadors
We have appointed a team of 13 Sports Captains from year 10. They spent the summer term helping with various primary school events. We will be creating a team of year 7-9 pupils to join the Sports Captains as Sports Ambassadors. Each PE teacher will nominate 3 pupils per half term that have performed well in both fixtures and lessons to become a Sports Ambassador. These will also help with primary events through the year.
