Thrive - Mental Health & Wellbeing

Intent

At Four Dwellings Primary Academy we are passionate about developing the whole child and committed to ensuring that our children feel safe, supported and ready to learn throughout their school life and beyond.  We have high expectations in terms of attendance, behaviour and attainment and we want to develop confident, curious, creative and capable children with the tools to be emotionally resilient and suitably equipped to engage with life and learning.

Implementation

In order to fulfil our intent, we have adopted a whole school approach to wellbeing known as ‘Thrive’,  which is a research based practice designed to support the right-time social and emotional development of all children and young people.  A clear and systematic approach enables us to identify the social and emotional needs of the children and develop tailored action-plans for individuals or groups incorporating strategies and practical activities to support healthy social and emotional development which can be adapted to ensure the best outcome for every child.

Impact

Thrive is a well established model, which at its core, has the recognition of the significance of positive relationships and the impact connection can have on children and young people’s emotional health and future wellbeing.
