Dear parents and staff members,
As you know, passengers returning from abroad can expect thermal screening. According to the government, as of Sunday a total of 726,122 travellers from 7,108 flights had been screened at airports in India. As the airports build up their capacity, more and more flights will be screened regardless of their point of origin.
A new requirement at the airport has prompted this quick message to everyone.
In addition to the normal immigration form that we fill in when we fly into India, a new self-declaration health form is required of all international passengers. The airport and airlines may not be able to provide you a copy. I was told that some people have had lengthy waits at immigration, to get a fresh copy of the form. I am attaching the form to this email and it is linked here. I strongly encourage all international travelers to print a copy of this form for every family member, and have it filled out prior to your arrival in India.
We appreciate that many people who have traveled in recent days to Level 3 countries have reported to our Health Office after their return. These families have self-quarantined at our request. Other families who have traveled to Level 2 countries have stopped at the Health Office for regular temperature checks. The school will be asking all parents and staff to give us information on their travel plans for the spring holiday at the end of March. this will be done through a confidential, online survey.
My regular update to the community will come out soon. Stay calm and healthy, and wash your hands...and, Happy Holi!
Best regards,
Jim Laney
