The careers education and guidance programme at Outwood Academy Adwick aims to support students to gain the skills necessary to help them be successful in the ever-changing world of work.
In order to offer the best support that we can, we work with an external provider called Careers Inc. They are an independent careers guidance service who will support students to achieve high aspirations in their career goals.
You are entitled to a Careers education and guidance programme which:
Is personal to you and puts your needs first
Motivates and inspires you to consider all opportunities
Helps you get the skills to make your career dream a reality
Helps you access any additional support you might need
Is delivered by trained teachers and advisers
Information given in lessons and assemblies to help you make the right decisions
Additional activities and events, such as guest speakers or careers fairs
Careers adviser support via either individual/small group meetings or drop ins at social times
Careers adviser support at Guided Pathway planning events and exam results days
Information and updates on display boards, VMG notices/activities, plasma screens and websites
There are many ways in which you can support your child with decisions about their career options. The links below offer advice from Careers Inc. on a range of topics, however if there is anything you would like further support with, please contact one of the Academy Careers advisers.
