In Computer Science, not only do you learn about how computers function, but also skills for life such as logical thinking, diagnostics and problem solving. These skills can be used in almost every industry in the world.
If you are able to break down a problem and using logic, identify potential solutions, this type of skill can be used in many situations. For example using this system would bode well in an interview or interview task situation.
Computer Science can lead into many obvious avenues after you leave Year 11. The most obvious would of course be further and higher education, studying Computer Science, although it can lead very nicely into Mathematics and the Sciences. Equally if further or higher education is not appealing to you, it can also lead into Computer Science, IT, Business and even Social Media Marketing apprenticeships.
Larry Page - the creator of popular search engine Google and now the CEO of Google’s parent company Alphabet, Page studies Computer Science at Stanford University in California.
