Regarding reservations for April 2026 stays.
Reservations for the 2026 season at Tengudai Sanso begin on January 15th. However, reservations for April stays will be suspended. (See below for details.)
The 2026 Alpine Route is scheduled to open on April 15th.
For stays from April 15th to April 24th: Room availability will be posted around April 10th. (Reservations will not be accepted before this date.)For stays from April 25th to October 25th: Reservations will begin on January 15th.
*The reason reservations for this period can only be accepted at the last minute is as follows:
Tengudaira Sanso staff will enter the lodge in early April and begin preparations for opening. Until then, even owners will not be able to enter the lodge.
Early April is the time when cherry blossoms bloom on the plains, but Tengu-daira, at an altitude of 2,300 meters, is a world of sub-zero temperatures. During the winter, when humans are unable to enter, temperatures drop to -30°C and the buildings are completely covered in snow. Repairs and restoring infrastructure such as electricity, water, and gas take time and effort.
Because it is difficult to determine in advance a date when we will be able to welcome guests in perfect safety and sanitary conditions, we will first begin accepting reservations for May and beyond (starting January 15th), when, based on experience, we can confidently assume we will be able to open. We will then begin accepting reservations for April stays once preparations are underway after the mountain opening.
We will provide as much detailed information as possible on our website. We also respond to inquiries by email. However, please note that we do not accept reservations or inquiries by phone.
