About April StaysStaff will enter the lodge in early April to begin preparations for the season. While cherry blossoms bloom at lower elevations, Tengudaira, located at an altitude of 2,300 meters, remains below freezing. During the winter months, when the lodge is inaccessible, temperatures can fall to -30°C, and the buildings are completely buried in snow. As a result, significant time and effort are required to repair facilities and restore essential services such as electricity, water, and gas.
Although we must wait until all systems are confirmed to be functioning before finalizing the April opening dates, based on our previous experience, we are confident that we will be able to open from the beginning of May. Because it is not possible to determine in advance the exact date when the lodge will be ready to welcome guests safely and hygienically, we will begin accepting reservations only for stays from May onward, starting on January 15th, and reservations for April stays will open once adequate preparations have been completed after the Alpine Route officially opens.
