Play is Important

Games provide the opportunity to make learning fun while building classroom community. Whether gamifying content, or just letting kids be kids, the game templates on this page can be utilized in a variety of ways.

Instructional Game Templates

Blank Game Board

Each day the teacher provides the next part of a story. The students then have to make a choice and explain their answer. 

Students use mathematical strategies so that they are the last person to pick up the last circle.

Students compete to answer trivia questions. Can they do it without having to phone a friend?

In this game, players take turns multiplying numbers to get four in a row in the grid. 

Guess who done with scientific elements. Student use questions related to properties of elements to narrow their choice.

A combination of Hangman and HORSE. Can students spell the vocabulary word before spelling the dreaded H-O-R-S-E?

Jeopardy

The classic answer and question review game. 

Memory

Students match pictures, words, phrases etc based on content. 

Students use mathematical strategies so that they are the last person to collect a circle.

Students use content vocabulary to play the classic word building game. 

Students complete content based tasks to earn rewards from the classic video game. 

Community Building

Introduce your students to Backgammon using one of the two templates created by Eric Curts.
