ClearShark H2O is a local non-profit which offers a variety of hands on lessons about the Chesapeake Bay, it’s watershed and the environment as it relates to our waterways. Their Environmental educators work with the teacher to meet the needs of their audience. The lessons can be tailored with a seasonal theme or a special topic to support your school/class. WSA is a local non-profit that trains and mobilizes community leaders to ensure a healthy environment for all. Our certified Watershed Stewards identify areas where communities can reduce the amount of polluted stormwater entering our local waterways and use native plants and trees to benefit our local ecosystem. Watershed Stewards create and deliver environmental education lessons, and work with communities to reduce pollutants. Stewards are available for classroom visits to deliver an environmental education program and to assist your class/school with garden projects.

AA County Recycling Division
Do you know happens to your recyclable items when they are collected?
Recycling program specialists can visit schools throughout the County for school-wide, grade level, or individual classroom presentations.
Topics of presentations include history of our County landfill and the importance of expanding its life expectancy, the recycling process in the County, how to recycle at home and at school, the importance and benefits of recycling, the 101 on composting, what is wish-cycling, and recycling programs that are offered at our County recycling centers.
If your class is interested in a different recycling topic that is not listed above, please let us know!
