Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary Experiences: $FEE Classrooms in the Field are hands-on field experiences for students from kindergarten to college. Our outdoor programs are tailored to meet the needs of students and teachers alike, actively involving students in the learning process and introducing them to many facets of ecology and scientific research, while meeting state core curriculum standards. Smithsonian Environmental Research Center - In Person Programs: $FEE We offer hands-on education programs that focus on the practices of science and supporting Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences (MWEEs). Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center Grasonville, MD $FEE The Chesapeake Bay Environmental Center is a 510 acre wildlife preserve on Maryland’s Eastern Shore that showcases pristine habitat and restoration efforts. CBEC offers unique hands-on, feet-wet educational programs for students from pre-school age into adulthood. During our on-site field trips, you and your students will enjoy exploring tidal marshes, meadows, and native woodlands, while discovering the importance of Bay stewardship. Do you know where your trash goes?
Bring your classr to tour the one and only landfill of Anne Arundel County! Classes are able to drive around the landfill by bus with one of our recycling program specialists discussing the history and life expectancy of our landfill, recycling programs available, the importance of recycling, and the monitoring and testing procedures to ensure our landfill is healthy for the County.
Landfill tours are around an hour long and can only be scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
