Throughout 2025, the Administrative Division focused on strengthening our organizational backbone by enhancing workforce processes, upholding rigorous ethical benchmarks, and deepening community engagement through volunteer support.
Human Resources (HR)
Workforce Planning: Facilitated the successful onboarding of Recruit Class 65, maintaining critical staffing levels.
Career Development: Executed a comprehensive promotional process for the rank of Lieutenant, ensuring a clear path for leadership succession and career progression.
Systems Modernization: Partnered with county stakeholders to upgrade core software systems, significantly improving the accuracy and efficiency of member pay and benefits administration.
Professional Standards Office (PSO)
Ethical Leadership: Remains a pioneer in Fire/EMS internal oversight in our region, centering our service on integrity through proactive training, thorough investigation, and fair corrective action.
Regional Collaboration: Maintained active leadership and engagement within the National Capital Region Internal Affairs Workgroup, staying aligned with industry best practices.
Volunteer Services
Leadership Transition: Successfully onboarded Mr. Dan Paulette-Chapman as the new Volunteer Services Manager.
Data & Infrastructure: Dedicated the transition period to a comprehensive audit and update of volunteer personnel data.
Strategic Planning: Collaborated with volunteer leadership to evaluate recruitment and onboarding workflows, laying the groundwork for enhanced service delivery in the coming year.
Building on the strategic planning of 2025, the division is poised to implement new hiring initiatives and streamlined onboarding processes in 2026 to further bolster our career and volunteer membership.
