WEST VALLEY ATHLETICS MISSION STATEMENT

Athletic competition is an integral part of the school experience. West Valley High School and West Valley Junior High and the WIAA are uniquely positioned to foster student growth in values and ethics through educational based athletics. Both schools are members of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA). WIAA's operating principles consist of - Strengthening all students for life through participation in excellent, fair, safe, and accessible activities. Both WVHS and WVJH and the WIAA strive to strengthen the integrity of students and adults across the state by promoting concepts of sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity. Theses priorities advance the highest principles of character - trustworthiness, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship and are represented in our core values of RELATIONSHIPS, ACCOUNTABILITY, MINDFULLNESS and SERVICE.
