WASHING HANDS: Use without video and break up washing hands into steps. See your school team for photos you can add to your bathrooms to help sequence these steps without verbalizing or over cuing your child. Check out this video below as well.
WASHING HANDS with VISUAL SUPPORTS (remember, lots of our kids learn with visual supports. Try to talk LESS and show more, this helps us move toward independence!)
Routines help children feel a sense of security and control over their environment.
This will help them predict what is next and avoid problem behaviors once the routine is learned.
Visual schedules are VERY helpful! You can make your own by taking pictures around your house or we could help you make one like the one here.
Have fun with it! Make a check mark or move a magnet/rock/lego over once the activity is complete.

Check yourself and make sure you are making more comments and labeling objects for your child instead of quizzing them all day. That will get frustrating for both of you!
Keep this in mind- make 3 comments for every 1 question that you ask!
Play with your child and have fun!
