PSAT testing: For Sophomores and Juniors will be administered in October 2025. Typically Sophomores interested in furthering their education with a 4 year college or university should take the PSAT in 10th and then again in the fall of their 11th grade year. The actual SAT can then be taken in the spring of their junior year.
Meet with your counselor about your classes and future plans regarding college. Review your schedule with her to make sure you are taking the right courses for your possible career path.
Start a calendar with important dates and deadlines.
Get more involved in school with extra-curricular activities, both scholarships and colleges prefer a well rounded, involved student.
Consider taking the PSAT's in October of your sophomore year, this is good practice for the PSAT/NMSQT in your Junior year and the actual SAT's. This test is optional for all sophomores planning to attend college and the minimal cost is $18.00, cash or checks made payable to Wilson Area High School.
If your plan is to play sports in college, have your parent/guardian help you research the NCAA National College Athletic Association eligibility requirements. The NCAA requires completion of certain courses to be eligible. Check out their website too, NCAA Clearing House.
