Create a 4-year high school plan related to your future goals.
Make sure you and your parent/guardian know what high school courses are required for graduation and that the chosen courses are right on track pertaining to possible future careers.
Start thinking about future careers, what interests you, what do you like or dislike to do and is there a career possibility for what you like and what is interesting to you.
Discuss these thoughts/choices not only with your parent/guardian, but also your Counselor as they all may have good insight into your choices.
GET INVOLVED! Actively take part in a sport, school club, music or drama group, or even community volunteer work. Not only will it keep you busy, but it will be beneficial when applying for scholarships, to colleges, etc.
If your plan is to play sports in college, have your parent/guardian help you research the NCAA National College Athletic Association eligibility requirements. The NCAA requires completion of certain courses to be eligible. Check out their website too, NCAA Clearing House.
Meet with your School Counselor to have any questions you have answered.
Save for college! If college is in your future, its not too late to start a college savings plan now. Every little bit helps.
