Last night the Hall Boys & Girls Indoor Track team had a historical night. Lots of highlights from the kids so thought you would all want to know.
Girls Team
The girls team was the surprise of the meet placing 4th overall in the the State Class L, with 5 top 3 performances:
Two Individual State Champions & All-State Performances
Junior Olivia Bowes won the Long Jump with jump of 17'2" School Record
Junior Taryn Smith won the High Jump with a jump of 5'
Three 3rd place finishes
Sophomore Katherine George 3rd place in the Shot Put (33 feet, 9 inches)
Junior Frankie Lynch 3rd place in the 3200 (11:51)
4x400 Relay Team 3rd place: Bella Livingston, Emily Mohler, Lexi Nieves, Jess Mason (4:17)
Every one of these performances was a season best as they really stepped up to the competition - and almost all of them are back next year!
Boys Team
The boys team won their 3rd ever State Title (1955, 2017, 2018). Last year they won 50-48 over 2nd place in a nail-biter that came down to the very last race of the night. This year the boys pulled away early and never looked back, winning 82-37 over 2nd place.
Two Individual State Champions
Junior Miller Anderson won the 1000m (2:37)
Junior Trey Cormier won the 1600m (4:28) and 3200m (9:36)
Two State Champion Relay Teams
4x800 Relay Team: Paul Chavey, Jake Rocheleau, Cole Canarie, Muhammad Ali (8:15)
Sprint Medley Relay Team: Naji Middleton, Yovan Rivera, Mason Stabile, Miller Anderson (3:39 -School Record & broke a 30-year old State Class L Meet Record)
Other noteable performances
4x200 Relay Team 3rd place: Naji Middleton, Yovan Rivera, Blake Morin, Jason Farrell
4x400 Relay Team 3rd place: Naji Middleton, Cole Canarie, Muhammad Ali, Jason Farrell
Junior Muhammad Ali 3rd place in the 600m (1:26)
Junior Dylan Rendon 3rd place in the 1000m (2:39)
Senior Darrell Mickey 4th place in the High Jump (5'10") and 7th place in the Long Jump (20')
Senior Brandon Beecher 5th place in the Shot Put (45 feet, 9 inches)
Senior Willem Landis 5th place in the 3200 (9:54)
