Gmail Offline

Gmail Offline

With Gmail Offline, users can access their mail and compose new messages when they don't have an Internet connection, or when their connection is unreliable or slow. When users reconnect, Gmail automatically sends any outbound messages.

Working offline with Gmail

When you want to use Gmail and you don’t have a network connection, you can access your synchronized messages through the Google Chrome app. Your data will synchronize in the background while you’re working online, so when you’re offline, you’ll have the information you need backed up. If you close Google Chrome while you're online, sync will stop at that time.

Syncing offline Gmail

When you're using Gmail offline, all conversations in Starred and Drafts regardless of age are synced, but we never sync the Trash and Spam labels.

Gmail syncs your most recent conversations, and by default, we sync seven days of mail. Here's how to change the amount of mail that's synced:

    1. Open the Offline Google Mail app, and click the gear icon in the upper right corner.

    2. In the "Download mail from past" drop-down menu, select on week, two weeks, or a month.

    3. Click Apply at the bottom of the page.
