Google Guides

We’re going Google! Yes, that's exciting and the project is underway now.

Another exciting announcement is...You have been selected to be a Google Guide!

In selecting Google Guides, we wanted people who had special characteristics:

• • Strong technology skills

  • Influential among other workers

  • Outgoing personality

  • Willing to help others

  • Energetic and resourceful

Wow that's a tall order!

We're lucky to have several people within ORGANIZATION who have these characteristics and more! We often use the terms Champion or Google Guide interchangeably because this role is so crucial to the success of our Google Apps deployment. We need our Google Guides to be the champion in helping our transition go smoothly, so we're asking that you play the following role:

• • Be among the first to be trained on Google Apps (We'll have special training just for you!)

  • Dive in and use Google Apps as much as possible during the first weeks that you have access; learn as much as possible

  • Help others during the Google Apps Go-Live, giving hands on help to people you work with

    • This is not a training class, we'll have other people giving formal training

    • This is helping others after they've been trained

  • Devote time to others during the general rollout

    • Probably 1/2 of your time during the first two days after go-live

    • Maybe 2 hours a day for the first two weeks after go-live

With Champions like you, our workforce will catch on quickly and the transition will be be very successful. We truly appreciate your efforts and recognize what an asset you are to ORGANIZATION. As part of this recognition, and so that our workforce can recognize our Google Guides on Go-Live day, we'll give you a Google T-Shirt to wear so that you can be spotted as a helper to others.

You will soon receive the dates and times for your unique training, as well as other messages informing you of the project schedule and how to escalate issues you cannot answer.
