Scholarships Due in September

H Burl Scoggins Memorial Scholarship--$1000 (deadline extended to Sept 20, 2021)

The North Georgia Ag Fair will present a $1000 scholarship to a deserving senior who is a resident of Whitfield County. The scholarship will be awarded to the most deserving applicant based on grades, school and community activities, awards and recognitions received, financial need, and a written statement of why the applicant would like to receive the scholarship. The announcement of the scholarship winner will be made during the annual fair. Applications may be obtained from the counseling office or from the North Georgia Ag Fair Office and must be submitted with attached transcripts by hand or emailed to ngafair@optilink.us by 4:00 pm, or postmarked by September 20, 2021. Golden Door Scholarship (deadline Sept 16, 2019)

This year, Golden Door Scholars is open to DACA students from all states! We have also expanded our program to include robust internship support. Strong preference will be given to applicants who plan to concentrate their studies in one of the following areas (or one similar): Engineering, Computer Science, Technology or Math. Gates Scholarship--full tuition (deadline Sept. 15, 2021)

The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. Starting in 2018, the scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential. Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Quest Bridge National College Match (deadline September 29, 2021)

Last year the National College Match connected more than 2,000 applicants with admission and generous financial aid to partner colleges, and 383 of these students received a College Match scholarship covering the full cost of tuition, room, and board. Quest Scholars are academically strong, low-income students who were successful QuestBridge applicants and now attend our partner colleges. Typically they are in the top 5-10% of their high school class, come from households earning less that $65,000 annually for the typical family of four, and may be on their schools free or reduced price lunch program. Juniors who are competitive and meet these requirements should see their counselor for a referral.

Discover Student Loans Scholarships--12 $5,000 scholarships

Writers & Illustrators of the Future contest--from $500 up to $5000 ($500 winners each quarter, $5000 each year)

Big Future Scholarships-monthly--Deadlines starting in June

All juniors: Make yourself eligible for $500 and $40,000 scholarships each month. Earn entries in monthly drawings for scholarships by completing steps to plan for college. The sooner you start and the more steps you complete, the more chances you’ll have to win. This month’s entries will continue to be included in upcoming monthly drawings.


Points Scholarship--$1000-$10,000 (scholarships awarded monthly and quarterly)

ScholarshipPoints awards one $10,000 scholarship every quarter of the year exclusively to members. There is no essay required. Simply sign up to be automatically entered into the scholarship. Eligibility Requirements: Must be thirteen (13) years of age or older on the date of entry, Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident of the fifty (50) united States or District of Columbia, Must be currently attending (or planning to attend) a college located in the United States.


FormSwift Scholarships--$1000 (deadlines on April 15, August 15, November 15, February 15)

To be eligible, the senior must make a business plan infographic about one of the suggested topics and apply.


Varsity Tutors Monthly College Scholarship Contest

Write an essay, promote it online, and you may win a $1000 scholarship. This is a monthly contest.


Nitro Scholarship--$2000 (scholarships awarded monthly through 2021)

Eligibility: The $2,000 Nitro Scholarship Sweepstakes is only open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia, age 17 or older at the time of entry, and who meet one (1) of the five (5) following eligibility requirements at the time of entry: a parent who currently has a child enrolled in an accredited college or university located within the United States, a student who is currently enrolled in an accredited college or university located within the United States; a parent who currently has a child enrolled as a high school senior located within the United States; a student who is currently enrolled as a high school senior located with the United States; a student or a parent whose child has graduated from an accredited undergraduate school (a “School) and who is currently paying back a student or parent loan for his/her/child’s educational expenses for such School (“Entrant”).
