This scholarship is worth $500 and is based on the student's outstanding academic, extra-curricular, and civic achievements. The student selected will go on to compete in the area contest for $1000. Physician's Health Services Scholarship--$2000 (deadline April 1, 2022)

This scholarship is given by the local physicians to a top science student who is planning to major in the medical field. Applications must be turned in to the counseling office or Mrs. Howard by 3:30 PM April 1, 2022. North Whitfield Class of '62 Scholarship--$500 (deadline April 1, 2022)

The North Whitfield High School class of 1962 is providing a scholarship to a deserving student from the class of 2022. Students must submit the application, 500 word essay, and a teacher recommendation to the counseling office or Mrs. Howard by 3:30 PM April 1, 2022. Varnell Community Club Scholarship--1 @ $500 (deadline April 1, 2022)

Criteria: Student must reside in the Varnell voting precinct as defined by the Registrar of Whitfield County. Student must show competency through GPA or test scores and attend college in the Fall of 2022. This is open to any student in the voting precinct regardless of high school attending. Applications must be turned in to the counseling office or Mrs. Howard by 3:30 PM April 1, 2022. To enter electronically, please make a copy of the application and rename it with your name. Tunnel Hill Womens' Club Scholarship--$1000 (deadline April 1, 2022)

One senior (boy or girl) will win a $1000 scholarship. Students from the Tunnel Hill area will be given first priority. Please click here for an application.

Berneice Boyette Memorial Scholarship--One $2,000 or two $1000 scholarships (deadline April 1, 2022)

Criteria: This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who plans to study business, particularly in the insurance field, or someone who plans on entering the school counseling field. Applications must be turned in to the counseling office or Mrs. Howard by 3:30 PM April 1, 2022. Whitfield-Murray Historical Society Dorothy Sapp Seaton Scholarship--(Deadline April 1, 2022)

The Dorothy Sapp-Seaton Scholarship is given to a NWHS student who has a good academic record and plans to continue his/her studies beyond the high school level. Completed applications, photos, documents, & letter of recommendation are due no later than April 1, 2022 to the Whitfield-Murray Historical Society. Applications must be turned in at the historical society.


Lesche Woman's Club Scholarship (deadline April 8, 2022)

The Lesche (pronounced LESS-key) Club of Dalton will award college scholarships to an area female student who will graduate from any of the Dalton, Whitfield or Murray high schools and will attend Dalton State College or any University System of Georgia college. Lesche is the oldest women's literary club in Georgia, founded in Dalton in 1890. Senior females may download an application. Applications must be turned in to the scholarship sponsor by the due date. Make sure that you fill in all of the application fields.


Jim Hankins Memorial Scholarship--$1000 (deadline April 12, 2022)

Jim Hankins was known for helping students get ahead in life and go to college. In his memory, the family is giving this award. NWHS seniors can download an application. Criteria: To receive the award one must write an essay on “Why I Want to Attend College” Applications must be turned in to the counseling office or Mrs. Howard by 3:30 PM April 12, 2022. Jake Hargis Memorial Scholarship--$1000 (deadline April 12, 2022)

Jake Hargis was a Northwest Whitfield High School student who had an exceeding talent and love of music. He was a friend to many people. He was the lead guitarist in the NW Jazz Band and participated in drama. This scholarship will be based on Jake’s love of music and the arts.

When submitting the application, please copy the document to your drive and add your resume’ to the end of it. Rename it with your name and share it with Mrs. Howard. Present the document where it can be shared with the scholarship committee, but do not make it editable.


Adam Miller Memorial Scholarship--$1000 (deadline April 15, 2022)

Adam was honest, caring, trustworthy, and motivated. A scholarship of $1000 has been established in his memory for a student athlete that exemplifies these character traits. Applications should be submitted to the counseling office by the end of school on April 15. You may bring in a hard copy or email the application to Mrs. Howard at jennifer.howard@wcsga.net.Present the document where it can be shared with the scholarship committee, but do not make it editable.


Lola Pardlow Memorial Scholarship--2 @ $500 (deadline April 18, 2022)

In 2018, the Whitfield Education Foundation and Mr. Willie and Mrs. Patricia Almond, created a scholarship for students. The Lola Pardlow Memorial Scholarship Fund will be awarding two scholarships for two deserving graduating high school seniors who are attending members of Mountain Ridge Baptist Church in Dalton, Georgia.

The Lola Pardlow Memorial Scholarship Committee would like to extend an opportunity to interested graduating seniors with plans to attend college during the 2021-22 school year to apply. Please have students adhere to the criteria and complete the online application by Monday, April 18, 2022-the deadline was extended to this date.


Roger Crossen Memorial Scholarship--$1000 (deadline April 19, 2022)

The Crossen family is honored to be able to offer this $1000 scholarship in the memory of our husband, father and grandfather, Roger Crossen. This scholarship will be awarded to a deserving senior with plans to continue their education at a post secondary institution.

In addition to the minimum eligibility requirements that will be listed later, the family will also consider personal goals, character, community service, and need. To help us make this decision, we will ask you to obtain at least two recommendations (one from a teacher and a second from a member of the community who knows you well) and to write a short essay to help us get to know you.

Harry Shiretzki Memorial Scholarship--$500 (deadline April 22, 2022)

Harry Shiretzki was an avid NWHS sports fan and a Christian. This scholarship will be given in his memory by his family to an NWHS student-athlete who has shown his/her faith in both words and deeds. The student should submit a 500 word essay on the subject: “How has your walk in Christ affected your life?” along with the application and a resumé. Applications must be turned in to the counseling office or Mrs. Howard by 3:30 PM April 22, 2022. To enter electronically, please make a copy of the application and rename it with your name. Dalton Little Theatre Scholarships--varies from $250-$1000 (deadline April 22, 2022)

There are three scholarships offered to seniors and college students: the J Forest Ovbey Memorial Scholarship for students who participate in both school and community theatre productions on stage, the Keith McDearis Musical Theatre Scholarship for students who participate in musical theatre productions in the community and at school, and the Jimmy Nations Theatre Education Scholarship for students involved in school and community theatre and plan to go into education in elementary or secondary in language or any of the fine arts. All applications must be mailed to Dalton Little Theatre by April 22, 2022.


Danny Dantzler Memorial Scholarship--$500 (deadline April 22, 2022)

This scholarships will be presented to a deserving high school senior who has dedicated his or her talent, time and commitment to Artistic Civic Theatre and the ACT2 Children's Theatre Wing. The applications for the 2022 Danny Dantzler Memorial Scholarship are now available. If you or someone you know is a graduating high school senior who has appeared in at least one ACT or ACT2 production, either on stage or behind the scenes, you are eligible. Whitfield County Farm Bureau Scholarship--$1500 (deadline April 22, 2022)

The award will be made to a student who is pursuing (as a full time student) a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Environmental Science, Forest Resources or Family and Consumer Sciences. Students submitting the handwritten application must enroll in a unit of the University system of Georgia or Berry College during the 2022- 2023 academic year and pursue a course of study stated above. Requirements: The finalist will be required to have an interview with the Promotion and Education committee. Winners must also enter college within one year from the time of notification of winning the scholarship.


Project Yellow Light Billboard Scholarship--2 @ $2000 each (deadlines March 1 and April 1, 2022)

To enter any contest, you must be a high school junior or senior between the ages of 14 and 20; or a full-time undergraduate college student between the ages of 15 and 25. Project Yellow Light/Hunter Garner Scholarship is a scholarship competition designed to bring about change. As an applicant you have one clear mission: encourage your peers to develop and embrace safe driving habits.

For the video competition: For both the high school and college categories, the winner will receive a scholarship in the amount of $8,000. Videos are due April 1.

For the billboard competition: For both high school and college categories, the winner will receive a scholarship in the amount of $2,000. Billboard designs are due March 1.

For the radio competition: For both high school and college categories, the winner will receive a scholarship in the amount of $2,000. Recordings are due April 1.

In addition to a scholarship, the winning video may be turned into an Ad Council PSA and distributed nationally to approximately 1,600 TV stations. The winning design may be turned into a billboard and displayed on Clear Channel Outdoor digital billboards across the U.S. The winning radio spot may be shared on iHeartRadio's national network and radio stations across the U.S.

Here’s what we’re looking for: A video, billboard design or radio spot created to motivate, persuade and encourage your peers to not drive distracted. You have a unique opportunity to play a key role in spreading this important message. You can speak to your peers on this subject in a way that adults cannot. The more lives you can impact, the more lives you can save.


American Fire Sprinkler Association High School Senior Scholarship Contest--10 awards of $2000 each (deadline April 1, 2022)

Seniors may enter by registering, completing a ten-question multiple-choice open book test. If all questions are answered correctly, a student may enter up to 10 times into the drawing.


Lewis Cenker Scholarship Fund (deadline April 1)

Scholarships are awarded to qualified students seeking a career directly related to the home building industry. Applications should be emailed to the HBAG office prior to April 1st.

Scholarship applications are reviewed and graded in the spring of each year by the Committee. Recipients are selected at that meeting and each applicant is notified by letter in June.

​In order to apply for a Lewis Cenker Scholarship, the application must meet the following criteria:

  1. Must be entering an area of study directly related to the home building industry.

  2. Must be completed in its entirety, verified and signed at a local home builders association.

  3. Must be mailed or delivered to the HBAG office on or before March 1st.

  4. Must include school transcript confirming at least a “B” grade point average.

  5. Must include a concise Career Goals Statement indicating a direct tie to the home building industry.

  6. Must include most recent complete tax returns to show financial need.

  7. Must include at least two letters of recommendation.

  8. Involvement in other activities related to the field of residential construction should be described.​


Project Yellow Light Billboard Scholarship--2 @ $2000 each (deadline March 1, 2022 or April 1, 2022)

Student must be a junior or senior and create a design for a billboard advertisement, video, or radio announcement to encourage safe driving.


Industrial Construction Scholarship--5 @ $1000 (Deadline April 2, 2022)

GEICC is offering scholarships to students pursuing postsecondary education in the Science, Technology, Engineering or Math fields. Scholarship criteria:

A minimum of five (5) - $1000 scholarships are available to be awarded.

A GPA of 2.5 or better is required to apply.

Scholarships will be awarded without regard to race, sex, creed, national origin or disability.

Students must submit an application in its entirety no later than 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2022

If selected, the recipient grants GEICC the right to use their name and photo(s) publicly for various publicity campaigns.

2022 Julian & Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship--$1000 (deadline April 8, 2022)

The Community Bankers Association of Georgia (CBA) is pleased to present applications to the 2019 Julian & Jan Hester Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship is open to Georgia high school seniors entering a Georgia college, university or technical college during the fall semester of 2019. The application must be submitted to the Association through a CBA member bank. Interested students can visit CBA's website, www.cbaofga.com, to obtain a listing of member community banks in their area. The student will then contact the bank and ask for sponsorship. Gloria Barron Scholarship Prize--25 $10,000 awards (deadline April 15, 2022)

The Barron Prize welcomes applications from public-spirited young people who are: A) between the ages of 8 and 18, B) permanent residents of and currently residing in the USA or Canada, C) currently working on an inspiring service project or have done so within the past 12 months.


We the Students Scholarship Opportunity-$5000 (deadline April 15, 2022)

Write an essay that follows the guidelines. Students will personalize their essays by telling "How does an understanding of natural rights and respect build a free society?"


National Dairy Shrine Scholarships--42 @ $3000 (deadline April 15, 2022)

To be eligible the students must be majoring in the dairy industry or other agricultural related field.


Dreams to Kings and Queens--2 @ $1000 each (deadline April 29, 2022)

Students must submit a 2-minute video on a specific topic. One boy and one girl will be chosen as scholarship recipients.


2022 Student-View Scholarship Program--$500-$5000 (deadline April 23, 2022)

This program is open to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college/community/junior college or career school. It includes: one $5000 scholarship, three $1000 scholarships, and ten $500 scholarships. Simply log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in your area. The scholarship will be awarded via a random drawing of all completed applications.


E-Waste Scholarship--$1000 (deadline April 30, 2022)

You must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior or a current or entering college or graduate school student of any level. Home schooled students are also eligible. There is no age limit. You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.


American Culinary Federation Scholarships-$2500 (deadline April 30, 2022)

The American Culinary Federation Education Foundation, with the support of the American Academy of Chefs, is pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships annually to students: Apprenticeship programs - up to $1,500, Certificate programs - up to $1,500, Post-secondary degree programs - up to $2,500.


IWSH Scholarship--$500- $1000 scholarships (deadline April 30, 2022)

Must be a current high school senior; or enrolled or accepted as a full-time (12 credit hours) student in an accredited technical school, community college, trade school, four-year accredited college or university, or an apprentice program.


AMVETS National Scholarships--9 @ $4000 (deadline April 30, 2022)

AMVETS is proud to offer scholarships/grants to our nation’s Veterans, Active Duty, Guard and Reserves; their Spouses as well as their Children and Grandchildren. AMVETS scholarship are designed to fulfill a financial gap after all Federal/State educational grants/scholarship/ grant available to an eligible applicant has been utilized/ all means exhausted.
